 with the dropship being the most technologicly advanced asset on the battlefield (bar the MCC) i would like to see some sort of inherent RESISTANCE amplification againt RAIL tech i.e forge guns, rail guns.. simply because there is no known counter to these devices.
 
 now id understand long range devasting AV weapons are a great counter to dropships but the dropship itself is not exactly a MASSIVE threat to the enemy team.. if a dropship pilot got 80/0 every game and was dominating like the logi slayers on the ground then of course a DEVASTATING counter measure like the forge gun or rail gun would be perfect.. but that just isnt the case.
 
 dropship pilots as it stands are HIGH RISK low reward assets that a player can bring to the battle field.. and this massive imbalance between forge and ship has been unchecked this entire time.
 
 in conclusion IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE AN INHERENT 30-50% RESISTANCE TO HYBRID TECH THEN PLEASE LIKE THIS THREAD, would be great to get numbers and to see if FORGE GUNNERS them selves would like to make the game MORE FUN and more of a challenge to shoot down a dropship... instead of this ONE SHOTTING DOUCHEBAGGORY we see on the battlefield today.

Hybrid Technology refers to something else entirely. For two, you want to nerf Railguns AND Blasters? Oh, I see. You want to make swarm launchers the only thing that can knock you out of the sky, because you can somehow outrun those, and with 1.7 they won't have nearly the range they have now.

 since forge guns are high velocity balls, they should send dropships flying not do too much damage, heavy ground vehicles on the other hand, in RL they get squezed? or something like dents, and shield dropships need better resistance to rail tech

 Your getting hit with the equivalent of the magnetic accelerated cannon. May not think that the round should do much to the dropship but in all honesty it should tear right through the ship and render controls inoperable plus a whole load of other things including magnetic interference. I know dropships have trouble seeing people currently but with the patch should come some fixes to let you avoid things like that.

 There are SOOOOO many other points of dispute that can be applied as well but you just " sliced and diced " so I can applaud the effort . Thank you for pointing out the bias nature of this OP and this thread .

 Dropships are not Halo Banshee's.
 
 
 In a dropship you are not able to rip around the map without a care and expect to survive. Dropships are designed as tactical quick-in, quick-out vehicles.
 
 It's honestly poor dropship pilot decisions that cause most crashes I see. Fly low, get to your destination as quick as possible, and get out/recall.

 Normal dropships need a "ROLE BONUS: 50% resist to AV weapons". Assault/logi/variants sacrifice their high tech anti-hybrid weapon capabilities for gunnery systems, divert power for repair systems, etc. The harmless sheep of the dropships will be hardier, the flying missile launching monsters of doom should take full damage in exchange for offensive capabilities/increased support capabilities.

 Let's just get rid of AV's because by the time all of the nerfs are applied that are being asked for and with the boosts as well to the vehicles ... there not going to be worth a dam anyway .
 
 Full respec's for all AV users . So now we can get the onslaught of argument threads because that's all the forums are good for anyway .

 make forge guns less accurate at range, accept that you will get nailed if you get within a few hundred metres, problem solved.

 Few hundred meters? I've never registered a hit on anything more than 308.5 meters. Doesn't mean they don't have more range, but it isn't much more as that was against a stationary installation and I apparently couldn't hit the one 12 meters beyond it.
 
 Still doesn't make this thread any more than a "Make only large turrets able hurt my derpship, but only a little bit at a time." QQ.
 
 The forge gun splash radius nerf has not diminished my ability to kill infantry with it. Thank you. |
