I'll still use them, AV Nades also. The vehicle killing will change, but the weapons to do it with will not. Most of the time when I tank hunt it's not from a mountain top, it's from an LAV to get up close and personal, alpha with AV and finishing off with swarms. I know with hit detection being added to turrets I won't be able to dodge them as well, but I can also read stats that tell me there will be windows of opportunity to attack.
Swarms and AV Nades may be getting a perceived nerf, but it is in line with the learning curve tank drivers will go through learning their new advantages and disadvantages. Remember, the days of hardener cycling while repping will be gone for them with the loss of their slots. |

I feel the damage nerf is reasonable, the damage output for swarms is insanely high when compared to the amount of damage a vehicle can tank.
The range nerf however is a bit excessive, however it is a little unclear on exactly what it means. To my understanding the "Lock-On Range" has been reduced from 400m to 175m, this much is clear. However what is unclear is if the missile travel distance is 175m or if its actually longer.
If you can only LOCK within 175m but the missiles FLY further than 175m, this leads to an interesting mechanic. Due to the recent decrease in delay between successive locks with a swarm launcher, it is possible to get an entire magazine full of missiles in the air before the first salvo hits. WIth this is mind, it may be possible to Lock a vehicle within the 175m Lock Range, and fire off 2-3 salvos by the time the first one hits.
At this point the vehicle will begin to move and likely get out of the 175m lock range, HOWEVER if the missiles are capable of flying beyond that limit, they'll most likely still hit the vehicle. If this is the case, then the range nerf really isn't that awful. You'll still have to get fairly close in order to lock, but once you do it's almost guaranteed that all of the salvo will connect.
I've never got three salvos off before the first hit at any distance on a tank. Two if the distance is great, but most of the time I only fire one at a distance as a faint to get you to activate your module. Then I reload and hop in my LAV to get close to you in the hopes that I reach you during cool down.
I'm getting better at guessing which modules you are running based on your HP. If you are maddy with over 6k I know you are not running hardeners and will be an easy kill. If you are a maddy with around 4k I hunt you differently. |

Who s already has FGs as well, and won't be affected by 1.7 as much?
And how many of you just realized something about 1.7 and are grinning and picking your teeth with a toothpick?

I just noticed your last question. Yes with this change, hopefully there is a piece of gear I'm highly skilled in that will make a big comeback. |
