Just like logi's get WP for helping others. Drop ship pilots should get a percentage of those they transported for a period of time.

I wish, though that did happen to me earlier. I was going in for a suicide AV run on a redline railgun tank, got all lined up perfect, went to jump out, and this happened.
I always forget you have to switch seats before jumping out now

I would be so terribly embarrassed if I died to swarm launchers in general
Basically the only times I've died to even top level proto swarms is either when I trap myself doing something stupid (think flying through buildings kind of stupid), when my modules glitch and go straight to cooldown, or when it's part of a gigantic cluster **** of AV and it just happens to score the last hit.
Swarms are better at killing tanks, but from a pilots perspective, they're more of an area denial weapon against dropships. I can slug it out with one or two swarm launchers. I cannot slug it out with a forge gun, in most cases anyways. Swarm launchers are easy so long as you have some shields. I'm curious to see how these new shield boosters work in 1.7, it should prove interesting if nothing else.

Yeah, I was joking with a buddy of mine about this just before I got off. Had a few really good flights to get shot down by a railtank in our redline.
Here are a few I came up with,
Its like buying a car and as soon as you pay it off a tree falls on it.
Its like paying off the mortgage on your house before a bomb blows it up.
Basically you have to get lucky enough to survive the 4-5 games needed to pay off your dropship you'll lose it on the 6th sometimes even in the game that paid it off.
If it only took 3 games of grinding to get back into the dropship then I might get two games out of it before I have to make some money.
As it stands today dropships are an expensive side role, not just in isk but in sp as well. If a new berry pilot fresh out of the academy came to me and wanted to be a dropship pilot, I'd tell him to go start training logistics for a few months before you even get in a dropship. That just breaks my pilot heart.  |

This exactly. This is why I specced Logi to begin with. Now I enjoy it MORE than flying, which is sad.

I try to fly dropships every game, I live off of the Isk reward for pc. The longer We play, the more people spec fully into swarms and FG, and the harder it is to fly. I used to have 100mill, now I have 5mill

Yea, I can't play PC without crashing my system.
I burned through over 100 million shortly after Uprising launched trying to make a PC worthy Logi dropship. Yea. I can admit that I'm stupid >_<

Usually, I look across these dropship threads (ANY dropship thread), and find SO much ego, so much elbow slamming, so much drinks thrown in one another's faces, it's like a bar your friend tries to invite you to, but you step in the door and right away you know this is NOT a bar a gurl wants to hang in--NO freakin way. LOL.
So THANK you players for posting some of the funniest kicking-back dropship opinions I've read in a long time. No biting, to insults. So cool. You guys ROCK.
I love the Logistics role, so I can identify with the advice to go full-LOGI before you even set foot on a dropship. I still can't understand the mindset of anyone who would try to operate a Prometheus (or caldari equal) on ANY of these tiny battle maps we currently have. Unless you have friends using installations to "strerilize" the air as you make you moves, you don't stand a chance of survival longer than two or three matches. The dropship just wasn't MEANT for circular moth-flying in a salad bowl--I feel certain of that.
I no longer lose ISK when I'm using my DS.  No, I'm not bragging. I just:
 Never use anything above a Grimsnes in ANY match of Dust (Logi DS is EXCLUSIVELY reserved for whatever EVE-linked maps we may see next year. Even my "low cost" 550K fit-out is too expensive an investment to be seduced into taking the car-cover off and driving her down the public street.)
Never go out over a map without a REASON or purpose to my trip (today I'm gonna test the new Carapace Hardner, so my flight plan is... and leave the area by way of....)
 Never take the Acura if I know I'm going to give the kids a lift tonight---if I plan to pickup or create a squad of passengers, I pull out the family car (that's my 230K STD dropship..., ok, air conditioning will be included, but THAT's ALL!) Those fellow mercs put their feet all over the upholstery...and they spray plasma rounds and throw McDonalds wrappers at EVERY target they see!
230,000 ISK is a small loss, and even two losses are usually made up in a single two hour session on Dust (and assures me there's always some profit made on top).
At that rate, I'm the perfect Soccer Mom.
