To whom it may concern, I have noticed lots of blue remote explosives around at enemy objectives. And I have to ask why??? Why??? Is there some reason why you placed the thing and then can't be bothered to detonate it when the enemy hacked the objective? Or do you psychos just like placing explosives around the place for a rainy day? It would be nice if you all could have a greater attention span than a squirrel and remember to blow the explosive so the rest of us don't have to risk lives and limbs on retaking it.
In all serious, joke rant aside, I am seeing a fair amount of explosives left on red objectives. I appreciate that logis are placing explosives to protect our captured objectives, but it is frustrating when no one uses them when a capture attempt is being made; and then I go back to retake it, risking losing a good or at least decent suit to YASD, only to find someone could have stopped the hack as soon as it started, or at least slowed it down.
Is any one else seeing this happen? It doesn't happen to me all the time, but it seems more common recently. |

Possible some blues are using proximity mines. Cause they think when someone gets close. Never underestimate the vast training they have undergone to be mercs.

If you get involved in a firefight you don't always have time to blow them.
If you killed you may not respawn in time to blow them .
You may have encountered situation that requires you to switch suits and that suit may not have REs.
Lots of reasons these do not get blown. |

more often then not the only reason I miss exploding an objective is they start hacking while i'm scanning, reloading, or in the middle of a fight. |

Also if you are dead you cant detonate the remotes so maybe they deployed them and couldn't detonate them as they were re-spawning. There is also a thread in the bug section about the problems with RE's which include them, not detonating at all just sitting there, having a delay to the detonation, detonating but still being visible on both mini map and visually rendering as if it hadn't detonated and the occasional detonate but not doing any damage to enemies.
So it could be stupidity (and I am willing to bet some of these are due to stupidity) or it could be some of these glitches.
TEST signature please help me think of a better one.

They're dead?
In combat?
They have that new bug that makes it so you have to hit the detonation 5 times before they explode? ( and sometimes not even all of them, or the one you want.)
And the last one: they're human so maybe they just forgot.
Excuses galore.

Ok, thanks. I was wondering why this seemed to happen a bit more often. I probably should of thought of more reasons why some one wouldn't blow them, but I am not a logi. With regards to the logi who switches to suits that don't fit any explosives, should they just deactivate or go off (maybe only after a certain time)? It seems unlikely that they will return to a suit with explosives and remember where the explosives were left ten to fifteen minutes ago and they are taking up space on the server running the battle (though spam of them isn't really a problem like uplinks and nanohives are.) |

Remembering them could be an issue, but it seems if you are going to plant them, you should make an effort to remember them just like you have to remember your squad leader's orders, where your vehicles are, and all the other stuff you have to remember while fighting in a battle.
Oh, I forgot to mention if the remotes are adjusted to explode after a certain time with a lost signal, they should either be adjusted to not do so when in pc, or so that they don't go off (due to lost signal) when a team mate is in the blast radius. Friendly fire should be a possibility, but only as a conscious mistake by the player, not as a random accident. |

I see it happen a lot. There are a few maps that I like to camp the objectives with explosives. Even if I find explosives already set when I get there, I still drop mine because I am pretty sure the person who dropped them is probably in CQC and not paying attention.

Do you use remote explosives? If not, then you should try them out. You either camp with them or have to multitask during a battle. Add in the other reasons listed about and you'll see why so many are left undetonated. They are fun and worth trying out if you haven't yet.
