Its kind of cyclical though
Why are we pitted against proto?
the matchmaking is off
Why is matchmaking off?
Not enough players, people complained about the delay
Why is their not enough players?
They're pitted against proto and get slaughtered
The choice to use the proto is yours, so you have the choice to match the gear with the opponents
Also would it kill you not to hunt them down like dogs when they get redlined? back off and let them gather their forces. It makes a far more interesting match for both sides

Neither am I. I'm saying you have the choice Yup we all have that choice. Im not one of those ppl that QQ about proto gear or OP this OP that...im just saying that if you dont enjoy playing the game and QQ all day then just quit and save yourself the frustration. Go find something else you can enjoy.
But can you honestly say its fun when the enemy is forced to hide or quit and you have to sit around waiting for the MCC to blow up?
New players don't have the choice to match you proto to proto. Hell I don't and I've been playing for months.
Even if you went down to Adv level you'd have the advantage of weapon proficiency and passive skills.
Whatever, its your game too. I just prefer it when I have a challenge
