(I am by no means a rookie,this just seems to be the best forum for this)
I have been saving my respec on this character for this time. I want to go commando.... Part of me wants to go Rail/Combat Rifle, the other part of me wants to go Sniper/(whatever rifle I like the best after testing it on disposable alts).
I am really interested in this Commando sniper Idea. It would let me target those at range AND fight CQC in theory. Theory is not practice however, so I am asking are there any commandos who have done the Sniper/Rifle combo and how has it worked for them? |

I've played around with it at STD level. The issue isn't that the sniper rifle doesn't work- the commando is a solid sniper suit. It's more that you're pretty much incapable of rifling in comparison to any medium frame. Your abysmal shield recharge rate, low speed, and big fatty hitbox mean that any reasonably skilled assault or logi will slice right right through you when you try to use the rifle, especially in CQC.
I would say your best option would be SR/SCR or SR/RR to try to play the range advantage game against ARs and CRs, if you really want to go the sniper + rifle route. |

You're a gluten?! That sucks! So, many people are allergic to gluten. But, maybe that's ok because some of those people must be gluttons for punishment right?  |

Yeah that was what I was thinking recently, peg someone with the sniper at extreme range, then use a Rail/Scrambler to keep them at long.
My fitting would be 2 Complex Light Damage Mods and either a CPU upgrade or if I can fit it Cardiac Regulator thing-a-ma-jig

Haven't gotten a sniper lolmando to work recently, have you tried mass driver/pasma cannon?
Or mas driver/scrambler? One that i like a lot is twin PLC, remote explosives.
Commandos can be sideline distance skirmishers though...
