I finally found the link to the thread I posted about an idea I proposed earlier that is an alternative to Ludvig's idea that was posted just as earlier.
Sorry, but there will be NO TL;DR on this one as this is something I can't simply summarize for you. If you don't want to read anymore than one paragraph of text then that it your personal problem, not mines.
For those of you who have the patience, I suggest you read the following link (which is locked now due to inactivity) in detail and tell me what you think. Keep in mind that this was posted a very long time ago and certain ideas that I mentioned back then would probably not be applicable today due to recent changes since the last time I posted this old thread.

Here is a revised version of the list that I have updated to account for the recent changes:
- Ability to passively train up a second character on the same account even while the main is passively training. No longer practical since you can create infinite number of free accounts on the PSN
- Ability to access the test server (Singularity or SiSi) that Eve players use to try out experimental concepts of their own without putting their assets at risk while also checking out upcoming features.*
- Ability to convert PLEX into AUR via the Noble Exchange (NeX) system that Eve Online players already have access to and use the AUR for their own needs and desires.***
- Ability to buy a Merc Pack with PLEX. No longer practical since Sony is the one selling the packs
- Ability to buy Fanfest Tickets and Livestreams in HD with PLEX which Eve players can already do.
- Ability to give PLEX for causes which Eve players can already do.
- Ability to access the Eve Online forums and post there as a Dust merc.**
* - This could help CCP with covering the extra cost of making continuous updates to Dust for the Singularity server access in addition to the cost of maintaining Dust for the live Tranquility access we have now.
** - Not sure how this would work given the fact that Dust accounts are connected to Sony while Eve accounts are connected to CCP.
*** - It should be noted that before this PLEX system can be implemented there should be a third prerequisite in addition to the first two mentioned in the link. CCP will need to offer more variety of AUR items in the market in order for AUR to have more use. I recommend the following additions:
1. Add vanity items such as the ability to customize the paint job of your suits and vehicles. Offer two types of paint buckets: A permanent paint for wearing in the warbarge or in other public places, and a consumable (cheaper) paint for use on the battlefield but can't be used on public areas.
2. Add more vanity items such as the ability to permanently customize your merc quarters. Stripper poles should be included (hint-hint).
3. Allow players with AUR access to the Eve Online clothes offered in the Noble Exchange store that Eve has already. Us mercs don't want to always wear the same dropsuit all the time you know. We want to dress casually for once. Keep in mind that these clothes in Eve are permanent items and they go with you to whatever station you move to.
If you have any suggestions that can improve this idea or concept, let me know. I'm open to constructive criticism here.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

Slag Emberforge wrote:Only qualm I have is consumable paint bucket, ill take BPO paints, but its very doubtful I'd expend AUR on suits.
I don't purchase consumables, only items with a permanent effect (boosters/bps/etc)
That's why I suggested adding more variety so there is something for everyone.

Jadd Hatchen wrote:I was sooo ready to hammer the subject matter that was hinted at in the title until I actually read the meat of the post. You need to fix that title. The topic title would seem to imply a subscription model for DUST (which would never work as it would reduce the number of active players and not increase it as they just skill up passively), which is NOT what the OP is about. It is about using the PLEX from EVE to do everything other than subscription time that EVE currently enjoys.
The only real benefit I can see for doing this is that people that happen to play EVE as well as DUST would be able to buy stuff for their DUST toons using ISK from their EVE toons. Not really a big deal since that's been CCP's intent from the get go.
The title is intentional. It drew you in, didn't it?
