Starting now I'll make daily posts and help you new guys get op.
First the phonetic alphabet.
A = Alpha
B= Bravo
C= Charlie
D= Delta
E= Echo
These are widely used to lower the chance of miscommunication due to having clearly different sounds.
It matters learn them.

Elevator up - means the Dropship is taking/took off.
Go loud - Screw stealth; fire your gun
Cover my 6' - watch my back. Important when someone is hacking or repairing something. or really anything that inhibits their ability to check their surroundings.
Also, 12 O'clock is in front of you, 3 O'clock is your right and 9 is your left. Any numbers in between are to be more specific. "Enemy to my 2!", means in front slightly to the right of my position.
On my go - don't do anything till the leader does

Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

Next up for you Sniper types including forge gunners.
Cardinal directions are really good to use since you have a N indicator.
So those little blue and red blips on the top right. You know the little circle radar.

"FIRE IN THE HOLE" - Teammate or squadmate throwing grenades.
"Big papa inbound" - Enemy tank engaging.
"OPEN FIRE" - (depends if what class you're running) Suppress fire on the enemy to keep them down.
"Drop da nuke" or "Drop the nuke" - Drop the orbital
"Watch my six" - Watch his back

Today it's clearing rooms.
Stack a team of 3 move into the enclosed space and pie off the room.
first in checks straight then left.
Second in checks straight then right.
third in maintains straight.
Don't ever bite off more than you can chew unless you're rocking serious gear you are not rambo never go anywhere alone. makes you a quick 50 to the opposite team. |

I've got some useful skills from the world of the Marine 0311 circa 1995.
Here it goes.
Hear that? No? Yeah, that's because I'm using hand signals and keeping a visual on the guy in front of me. The nearest you can get to hand signals in this game is to know what you need to do before hand and cut too much cross chatter. Also, use short phrases (see below).
On a real battlefield you will most likely not hear anything due to, if nothing else the ring in your ear from your own rifle. Therefore, the emphasis on non or short verbal queues. This can help in this game though.
Plan tactics ahead of time for any given situation. Use one or two word codes unique to your team to communicate succinctly and otherwise move in a staggered, single file formation with either the leader in front or a point man in front with the leader second. Either move tight from point of cover to cover or move fast and strung out in the open. This allows you to flank to either side or be a smaller target from the front. Also, you "pivot" around the first man and spread out laterally to flank. Essentially, you wrap around the attack point.
Since these maps are the same and therefore predictable; you can split them into sectors and define the map tactically while moving to known rally points.
Most of the play in this game is M.O.U.T (urban) warfare; but, some is akin to large land warfare at times. This is a whole other set of training skills but they all use the basics above.

Cover and Concealment.
The definition of Cover: Used to block oneself from incoming fire. Examples would be rocks, walls, or shielded areas, such as vehicles turrets or null cannons.
The definition of Concealment: To keep oneself from being easily detected. Examples are camouflage, using the sun glare, blending in with a nest of nanohives, and Most obviously profile dampeners.
So what's the point of bringing this up? Well in a shooter its like a game of angles think of it as fast paced pool game with a spin of chess. For your cover options that will save your life consider last known enemy positions and consider 2 things.
1. how easy would it be to come and finish me off?
2. Is this an easy spot to throw a grenade into?
If either of those questions make your spidey senses tingle go ahead and pick the best option for survival. I guarantee you even vets knew better than to be where they were when they died at leat 4/5 times. They just chose to play rambo and it screwed them.
Concealment has alot more to do with sneaky type players. If you are a scout shotgunner or a scout of any type. Never engage a mob of enemies. I watch alot of good scouts go down because they don't wait for their lost sheep to wander into the killing fields.
Using your advantage of being in an unusual or hidden area is the reason you insta kill 90% of your enemies.
In transition I've noticed alot of people go into a standby mode in their senses. They think oh i'm just going point a to point b no big deal. That's the moment you should be waiting for while you have CONCEALED yourself to catch them in that lul. |

You can also use the naval version to make it easier to say quickly.

I would appreciate any feedback you military guys can give me on my Frontline Infantry guide:

In particular, the communications sections, and any advice on squad movement. I found Fire9er GrekoGÇÖs advice of how to enter a room to be very enlightening, and may edit it into my guide when I have some time. As a civilian I have had to learn this stuff as I go from military guys I have played with, and what I know from civilian life.

I'v been taught several methods for room clearing and the few features they all have in common are immediately moving out of the choke point i.e. doorway, and alternating direction e.g. first guy goes right second goes left or. The key is really knowing what to expect from your squad, have an SOP in place. Leading with a cooked grenade is usually a good idea.
Not new, just new to you.
