I only have 6 mil SP in tanks. The bare minimum for all modules and basic hulls. The passive skills arent significant enough so meh. Honestly, since every tank build has a clear counter, being able to use a counter-tank is more effective than speccing 1 or 2 builds to the max.
I've taken down, SP investment-wise, far superior tankers with 15mil+ in tanks because I just out-thought them. Got in their OODA-loop, per say, and won.
Tanking is easy if you stop thinking that you're "a fast heavy with a huge gun". Once you start looking at tanking like "i have a g-1 scout and a shotgun while everyone else has a gallogi with a duvolle", your game will improve dramatically.
I'm really not even that great of a tanker. Compared to other tankers, my KDR is probably one of the lowest in our circle, but I know what I'm doing. Do date, the only tankers who have killed me more than I have killed them are General Grodd and Hotch. Everyone else I tie with.
The hardest thing for a tanker is knowing when you simply can't win. This is easier vs AV, but knowing you won't beat other tanks is difficult to admit. yesterday, I was lucky and got the drop on sgt nova star in my gunlogi (particularly proud of that bc he has a tendancy of killing my tank before it touches the ground). Anyway, I killed him. Then out of the corner of my eye, I see him and his friend drop in a gunlogi and a madrugar. Now, if they were operating seperately, i probs wouldve called in a brawler tank and took them out 1 v 1, but there was no way in hell id win that battle, so i swalled my prid and recalled.
Another thing I do is feign weakness. Sometimes I'll see a tank and lead him to believe that I'm afraid of him. Then I hide behind a burm and pounce with all modules on. No contest.
Nitros are also great because it allows you to flank a tank who THINKS they know where you are, and hit their weak point on the back of their tank.
All in all, my tanks are garbage, but my tactics are some of the best.

I don't hate you. I just don't want AV to do as much damage as it does now...well, swarms and yolonades, anyway. I miss the 4 v 4 tank battles of old and AV prevents that. I got into tanks to avoid the ARs and smash madrugars, but now the madrugars are a rarity and i have nothing to do but bumble around in my scout shotgun nerd suit.
Please don't nerf my tanks. I love killing tanks more than anyone. I'm on your side in battle.
Back when I gave a **** about PC, big corps would hire me just to kill other tanks. So yeah, I don't want to shoot infantry, but there are no tanks left to kill. Honestly. You guys die to damn fast for me to enjoy.
