If logic and reason were the staples of the BPO QQing they would have a point.

We've already hashed it out many times. CCP can do a lot of things. The question is whether or not they should and what the repercussions of doing so are. |

Law has more weight than a EULA. At no point can a contract(EULA) over rule a law.
I can't have you sign a contract saying it's okay for me to steal your car or kill you. Everyone knows what EULA says, what the gripe is about is if it breaches the LAW. |

Well there you go folks. You're not allowed to complain about anything. So next time they make a weapon OP, or a suit useless, you can't post here about it, because CCP hasn't broken any laws. You just have to bend over and take what's coming.
No.

Contracts are binding so long as they do not contravene the laws for that nation.
However, for me it is not about the law or Eula. It is more about trust and perception. You may be acting within the law/Eula when you do something but that doesn't mean people are going to like it or accept it.
If you stop trusting someone you are less likely to spend money with them. |

Well that's the most clear headed way I've heard it put. Though its still pretty silly to jump to conclusions like its a conspiracy to remove all bpos. Like they watched waaay to much law an order and this is what "opens the door" for their scheme to remove all bpos. The door has always been open, and we all agreed to that.
Should they? They determined the answer was yes. The repercussions? Idiots clogging up the forums, feeling hurt and betrayed, threatening to not buy aur again. They gave them their aur back for very useless items. I informed a friend on this matter, he was stoked he was getting aur back to spend on a booster to get more sp for stuff in 1.7. As I would be if I had these bpos. I spend money on dust if I like the development and want to pay ccp for their work. What are these people spending money on aur for? |

What about BPO's that weren't directly purchased for aurum? IE- pretty much all BPO's. What if I bought a merc pack for the BPO's and considered everything else as bonus? Am I just an idiot clogging up the forums? |

Come on people, there has got to be at least 1 BPO crusader who is actually in this mess for a real reason, not for the beauty contest.
You see that sh*t up there?
You know what that means?
It doesn't mean i'm saying HTFU.
It doesn't mean CCP is saying HFTU.
It means-
Any content purchased in an in-game store will be purchased from Sony Network Entertainment Europe Limited
So, if you purchase something from Sony, and you want a refund.............

legality aside,
there is an unspoken contract here between our business with CCP.
its based off trust.
the same kind of trust you give your favorite restaurant that they wont poison you or serve you rat meat.
the same trust you give your barber that he/she wont shave a d*ck into the back of your head.
the same trust you give ANY store that the item you purchased is in the box....
ccp effectively removed that item from the box, and betrayed this trust I speak of.
its a good business model.
we are making sure ccp understands this....

Is there anyone here who is a real lawyer in real life who specializes in consumer protection laws to help shed some light on this? This is getting out of hand and we need real experts here to clear this out.
...
No, I'm not asking for an internet lawyer. A real lawyer.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.
