Because upgrading the damage would just turn them back into the visam death rays we had before, and increasing the heat threshold to allow you to fire a little bit longer is useless.
Give laser rifles more optimal range per tier level. not a longer max range. Make the sweet spot bigger so laser rifle users aren't so screwed in every situation.

All LRs are going to need a significant buff to max range or they won't be viable. The RR will be able to do everything the LR can do without all of the crazy drawbacks that make the LR fun/interesting/unique. The one thing the LR had going for it was a range advantage, which it will no longer have.

I say give LR an optimal range of 60m to 250m and give them a camera scope. Make them the Amarr Racial Sniper. Then add an assault variant with optimal of 30m - 120, faster heat build up and cool down and the current sight.

Unless the RR has some stupid amount of recoil to make it useless, the LR as it is, will not be able to compete.
CCP should have really posted new stats for the laser alongside those of the new rifles. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to tweak my baby, but we're dealing with CCP here.

Well they are Lasers after all... So wouldn't that mean the more power coming out, the farther the Laser would travel

viziam death ray was a combo of 25% range buff to the viziam..+22 dmg...1 or the other would be ok but not both |

Seems reasonable, say that right now the viziam's optimal range is 65m-80m (I don't know for sure). It should become 65m-120m. Giving it a chance vs rail rifles and making it a true med/long range weapon

Long range one make it 70-265 but with more damage Assault variant stays like you said........I'd be all for it |
