I feel the game is unbalanced completely in how it pays out. ive gone matches of 27 n 9 and over 3000 wp and earned only about 250k . i messed around next match 19 and 0 with a tank. and only 1900 wp and made the same exact amount. ccp doesnt rewardfr skill playing. or trying your best to win. say you go all out in a pub match just to win and actually pull it off. you burnt through 9 proto suits o achieve that win and you were top dog. here you lost over 1 mil in equipment. yet get payed garbage. they still have the camping style mentality. a first person shooter you play to win. but there are people out there who cant play to win every match cause of pay rate. they force your hand where to play top dogs with large wallets you gotta buy aurum to not blow your isk. I feel bad for the new comers out there who are just reaching the proto level cause at this rate they wont be able to afford it and most likely quit. ccp needs to really think about the longevity. there are corps with districts that can afford it and then there are corps who own nothing and grind day in and day out for days just to save up enough suits for one game or pc. i hope for ccps sake and also the new comers that they figure something out. other wise you will have people doing what they do. redline sniping instead of trying to win. ruins the game for everyone. its not like eve side where we can have one guy farm isk day in and day out for the entire corp. while others do there role. and also who in the world would bring expensive stuff in especially tanks. when if you loose even one you gotta play several matches to break even. wheres the play to win mentality ccp? |

Although I always seem to average 250-300K ISK per match, I haven't yet put my finger on all the variables that make up their (not so public) algorithm. I know the price of suits/vehicles destroyed is a factor, as well as the quantity of assets destroyed in general, but I remember seeing an excellent video of a 1 million ISK payout in a match, and the player didn't do anything notable EXCEPT have a wide variety of activities, kills, hacks in different parts of the map. The matches where I get huge payouts seem to be the ones where I'm running all over the map , killing with all different kinds of weapons, hacking, destroying vehicles, etc. while if I get high-scoring kill matches with just one weapon, I seem to get the average.
Of course, I haven't got enough testing/numbers to back up my theory, but until they release the algorithm in pure form it's just conjecture.

You mentioned saying noobs that skill into proto won't be able to wear proto due to be poor, that is a good point you are not suppose to wear proto in pub matches all the time.

i completely agree, but there are players who can afford to do it thought out there. and the easiest way to conteract a proto is withproto. im not saying a skilled player couldnt do it with basic. just its that much harder cause your squishy as hell. they have yet to implement anything that bans certain equipment based on meta lvl. so no filter :/. again think of the people just getting into the game who want to fight back. other protos? so cause your theory you shouldnt run proto in pubs all the time will have ccp keep it the way it is. and pub stompers will crush on noobs. quit . and then where are you. where does the game grow. the only way to keep an online game going is keeep it challenging but also playable cuz if older players dont get a challenge they get board and leave . a new comer cant even move ten meters without dieing he quits n leave. think out side your narrow mind and think business and logic. cuz there are people who can affors proto every match. :). im defending the poor people cause i see how its unfair. and ive lost a lot of friends from the game over time cuz of this problem. |

I will add my 2 cents. First, I never really get a lot of kills because I guess I have bad aim. I focus on staying alive mostly and earning ISK.
I just skilled up to proto assault and don't find that it helps me stay alive much more. I already had my armor, shields, plates, shield extension all at level 5. Plus, AR proficiency 4. So, I run around in a militia medic fit and a GEK and do pretty well, Not to mention the fact that if I die it only costs me 10K ISK compared to 150K ISK. Granted the protos are harder to kill, but I think it is do to the fact that they are usually just better players anyway.
I have a lot of ISK saved up, so I could afford to run proto all the time. BUt, I like to earn. Even in a match where my team gets "proto stomped" I take the view that, you are not gonna kill "me" and most times I end up getting 200 - 300k ISK and be in the top 3 on my team. Not from kills, but support.
Lastly, I think that proto gear is an ISK sink. Its economics and CCP is trying to limit how much ISK people have. Too much money in an economy leads to inflation. SInce this game is supposed to have a real economy one day they cant have too much money flowing or there will be massive inflation.
Oh, and I don't feel bad when I get murdered by Protos. This is a hard game and if you have the skill and will to run it....more power to you. |

Now. I agree with the idea that you should be rewarded more for winning, but you should not be able to afford proto 24/7. It's an ISK sink - a luxury to spend excess ISK on, and you get rewarded for that ISK with performance.
If you made it easier to run proto all the time, more people would do it. This would not have a beneficial effect on the new players because protostomping becomes even worse and anyone without a protosuit becomes utterly unable to compete.

You must be doing something wrong, went 26-4 in a match last night and got well over 300k isk. In suits that only cost 10k, try harder maybe? |

Message from Godin: ISK earned system is weird. They need to redo it imo for pubs. Anyways, Tiercide for Dust. |
