This could solve the issue of equipment spam, and grenade spam at the same time. We should do this.

No, it would be a broke mechanic, you buy 1 grenade and 1 proto hive, the amount of isk sould be cheaper, exploit galore.
The reason you get multiple, is because you buy the schematic to build the item, not the actual item itself.
This is the same reason you get the exact ammo you need from a hive or depot.
