I play on 400 DPI with sensetivity of 90.
I hear that more DPI is best so doing some math magic it brings me to 2000 DPI and 18 sensetivity.
But is 2000 DPI optimal? will my aim be more jerky or will it actually be more precise?

I play with DPI 400 and sensitivity at 30 with smoothing and aim assist off. You can fiddle with it all you like its still garbage compared to how it once functioned.

I've read lower DPI the better because you don't hit the arc of the joystick emulation as quick which causes the floaty feeling and horrible response time..
But I've tried it all and mouse aiming is complete **** with every setting because of whatever CCP did to it at the start of uprising.. :( |

How can you play in CQ with that sensitivity?

CQC with a mouse right now is like playing previous build's but with about 30 ounces of whiskey in me that night..
Its like rolling a dice if the crosshair will even stop where you told it to. i feel like a drunk on a mouse. |

It is but to keep the nerves at strain, to dry one's eyes and laugh at a fall, and baffled, get up and begin again.

I typically play @ 4-5K dpi, 30 sensitivity(because 20 is still broken, & 0-10 is too slow. Even @ 7K dpi!?. I have attempted lowering my dpi & raising sensitivity, to little success. I run a CQC scout or sniper. |

Edit, The Y axis sensitivity is what I take issue with. Why we can't adjust it independently, is beyond me. For me, it is too restricting for my high speed style of gameplay.
Your mouse can change the independently or so I believe.

Polling rate: lowest possible <- Most important setting!!! Screen resolution: 576p/480p <- Most important setting!!! DPI: below 1600 to reduce jumpy effects (ps3 cant handle high DPI probably). Sensitivity: adjust to comfort. PS3 XMB sensitivity: set to slow
Writing a mouse setting guide for dust atm. Waiting for answer from ccp on optimal settings.

Writing a mouse setting guide for dust atm. Waiting for answer from ccp on optimal settings. Ran a few test with my RAT 7, & found that below 2000 DPI was just too sluggish for my taste, even at max sensitivity. & +3000 started to get jumpy. I can't imagine how a lower fixed DPI mouse is even usable.
@Ansiiis The Trustworthy, Thanks for the suggestion. I completely forgot I could adjust it on the mouse. A extra 500dpi on the Y axis made a world of difference for me. |
