Avallo Kantor wrote:This right here is what is called the "Slipper Slope" fallacy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slopeThe slippery slope basically posits that by taking one small steps, increasingly large and drastic steps are then going to come of it until one arrives at an extreme conclusion. The reason these 4 module BPOs were removed were because the modules themselves are being removed, as part of the larger vehicle rebalancing. If these BPOs stayed in your inventory, they would become useless, and serve no purpose other than being able to see it in your inventory. Instead they opted to remove the BPOs as well as the base items, and issue a refund. Items like the Sevr suit, and Exile ar are unlikely to be removed for much the same reason these BPOs were removed. They were removed because the relevant item NO LONGER EXISTS. For the Sevr and Exile BPOs to be removed in similar fashion would require that their respective suit and weapon be removed from the game in some future re-balancing. This, while in CCP's ability to do so, is highly unlikely to occur, and making wild accusations on such notions are unstable at best. These changes to vehicles were posted over a month ago, and have been on the front page of this forum for that amount of time. It should have been readily obvious that any BPOs for any items that were getting removed were also going to be removed or modified in some manner.
what if they remove tiered suits?
bye bye bpos
what if they remove militia gear?
bye bye bpos
what if they remove LAV's?

when will this action be too much for you to continue your support of a company that is careless with your money? actually in regards to taking away the exile dragonfly and any bpo purchased in a pack and not bought with aur would be illegal. the only reason they can legally remove the bpo's that they are is because they are in market bpo's bought with aur ..so the purchase of the aur is the transaction that has a binding contract on it..not the in market purchase of bpo's with aur however in the case of the exile lav bpo's and allot of other bpo's they were bought in packs off the psn...real money was exchanged for those specific items..do you understand the difference between the vehicle bpo's and the pack bpos explained thusly?
in my interpretation its all real money....
the aur I bought when there were bpo's on the market is worth more than the aur they will give me now because there are no longer as attractive items for purchase.

when will this action be too much for you to continue your support of a company that is careless with your money? The only BPOs worth crying over are the Templars. Those cost serious cash to obtain (except for those who traded isk). Maybe the Dren stuff too. $100 is $100. Everything else is hardly worth the effort to QQ about. Save your energy, there are bigger worries then CCP ripping you off.

As for another saying they legally cant remove BPO's from Merc packs, Sorry, but you're wrong. They can if they so decide and you have no legal leg to stand on there either.
It's funny how many whiny posts the OP has made on this subject. Guess what. You're no more special than anyone else who has been affected by changes, updates, etc.
Just because YOU don't find anything of value on the market doesn't make it CCP's fault. They are giving you a return on your investment. Don't like it, stop investing and go elsewhere. Go back to your P2W game model.

Its not likely that dropsuits or weapons like the AR are gonna be removed. Thats complete garbage. I can 99% say that with certainty, as of course, nothing is certain.
However these people need to realise that 99% is bigger than 1%, so stop saying "What if?" when the chances are so God damn low of it being removed.
And the EULA says they can do what they want regardless of whether you've bought it or not. So you cant win. So quit bitching and get over it.

they are removing them because they chose to change the way vehicles work.

Counter arguably the money you spent into this game is no longer worth what you bought it at so why should we exactly refund you the same? Also from an economist point of view the value of aurum has gone up if it were a transferrable thing because the amount of aurum offerings has significantly decreased thus ergo lower supply and the demand of consumption is constant as all goods aurum can be spent on is perishable.
..... what would you pay more for:
a bottle of booze that is always full no matter how much you drink, or a pint?
if pints wound up costing as much I'd say that would be inflation.
inflation decrease the worth of a revenue not increases it.
i'd rather have a dollar in 1918 than a dollar in 2013.
the aur from when bpo's were on the market was worth more, you got more for your aur.
now you get les so the aur is worth less....

What happened back then before is equivalent to the creation of a dime to compliment the dollar for things less than a dollar. Suddenly 1, is no longer the smallest unit but 1/10 of that unit is and both are now measured the same. Because that package was remove the unintentional injection of AUR has significantly dropped over the time being while the overall supply continues to decrease as they are used to buy consumables (which you cannot refute people do indeed buy consumables modules and gear) as well as the active and passive boosters.

As pointed out by others with your poor debate skills you are being a bit of a hypocrite here. AUR being returned is far more than what was being spent into those BPOs whose value is nearing 0 in 1.7 due to the fact that 3 will be nonfunctional and 1 cannot be reasonably fitted anymore for any known advantage similar to the now useless Yellow Pills. It's like trying to sell an iPhone 1 at the same very value on its first day debut. Neither the money NOR the product are as good as they where back then.
they are only useless because ccp chose to make them useless....
poor debate skills?
I've been arguing this point for days, constantly repeating myself to people who should have just read the previous threads... I'm sick of repeating myself. but I will continue to as long as there is hope of ccp doing the right thing.

I don't disagree with op, I also have no bpos that I paid for, I like my skinweaves and my exile I hope they don't go. but if that is what it takes to have meaning full interaction with eve pilots and the overall expansion of the economy than do what needs to be done and rip off the band aid!
I've always been of the opinion that anything above a MLT bpo was a mistake and would come back to haunt us now it is.
I'm tired of these threads and venting it here.
rage away.
yet another ridiculous counter argument by someone who didn't buy bpo's....
SAY NO TO BPO REMOVALS!
