This right here is what is called the "Slipper Slope" fallacy.

The slippery slope basically posits that by taking one small steps, increasingly large and drastic steps are then going to come of it until one arrives at an extreme conclusion.

The reason these 4 module BPOs were removed were because the modules themselves are being removed, as part of the larger vehicle rebalancing. If these BPOs stayed in your inventory, they would become useless, and serve no purpose other than being able to see it in your inventory. Instead they opted to remove the BPOs as well as the base items, and issue a refund.

Items like the Sevr suit, and Exile ar are unlikely to be removed for much the same reason these BPOs were removed. They were removed because the relevant item NO LONGER EXISTS. For the Sevr and Exile BPOs to be removed in similar fashion would require that their respective suit and weapon be removed from the game in some future re-balancing. This, while in CCP's ability to do so, is highly unlikely to occur, and making wild accusations on such notions are unstable at best.

These changes to vehicles were posted over a month ago, and have been on the front page of this forum for that amount of time. It should have been readily obvious that any BPOs for any items that were getting removed were also going to be removed or modified in some manner.

actually in regards to taking away the exile dragonfly and any bpo purchased in a pack and not bought with aur would be illegal.

the only reason they can legally remove the bpo's that they are is because they are in market bpo's bought with aur ..so the purchase of the aur is the transaction that has a binding contract on it..not the in market purchase of bpo's with aur

however in the case of the exile lav bpo's and allot of other bpo's they were bought in packs off the psn...real money was exchanged for those specific items..do you understand the difference between the vehicle bpo's and the pack bpos explained thusly?

The only BPOs worth crying over are the Templars. Those cost serious cash to obtain (except for those who traded isk). Maybe the Dren stuff too. $100 is $100. Everything else is hardly worth the effort to QQ about. Save your energy, there are bigger worries then CCP ripping you off.

pretty much with the bpo's that they are removing players bough aur then they spent the aur in game for bpo's..thus the aur cannot be taken away from them..the bpo's can...

however with packs there was no mid way currency change if you bought a merc pack or elite pack those bpo's are legally untouchable by ccp they could not take away the vet pack bpo saga without replacing it with a bpo lav because of this

if they removed lavs entirely ..that would probably have real legal ramifications as i said those lavs cannot be touched..well at least the ones that came with the vet pack

Players buy items for AUR.

Months later CCP makes changes to the system, the item that the Players bought will no longer be functional because of this. Instead of leaving the useless item in the players inventory, CCP gives the players a full AUR refund, even though nothing says they have to provide a refund at all.

Players resort to blackmail, silly legal action, and name calling.

The funny thing is, they aren't even removing suit BPOs. Just Vehicle Modules, and their corresponding BPOs. They wouldn't even be able to use the modules after 1.7 anyway. These guys are crying, threatening to sue, blackmailing, demanding exorbitant refunds of +$100, fearmongering, and calling CCP names... It's hilarious.

Its not likely that dropsuits or weapons like the AR are gonna be removed. Thats complete garbage. I can 99% say that with certainty, as of course, nothing is certain.

However these people need to realise that 99% is bigger than 1%, so stop saying "What if?" when the chances are so God damn low of it being removed.

Also from an economist point of view the value of aurum has gone up if it were a transferrable thing because the amount of aurum offerings has significantly decreased thus ergo lower supply and the demand of consumption is constant as all goods aurum can be spent on is perishable.

What happened back then before is equivalent to the creation of a dime to compliment the dollar for things less than a dollar.

Suddenly 1, is no longer the smallest unit but 1/10 of that unit is and both are now measured the same.

Because that package was remove the unintentional injection of AUR has significantly dropped over the time being while the overall supply continues to decrease as they are used to buy consumables (which you cannot refute people do indeed buy consumables modules and gear) as well as the active and passive boosters.

I don't disagree with op, I also have no bpos that I paid for, I like my skinweaves and my exile I hope they don't go. but if that is what it takes to have meaning full interaction with eve pilots and the overall expansion of the economy than do what needs to be done and rip off the band aid!

I've always been of the opinion that anything above a MLT bpo was a mistake and would come back to haunt us now it is.
