And why they are bad for the economy. AUR for permanent items such as cosmetics and boosters is fine. BPO's are bad. Please put out a devblog with all the number (which I know you have) to finally soothe the tears of cryhard scrubs who can only afford to run AUR militia gear.

Good call.
Since the vast majority of BPOs are militia or standard level I'm not sure why folks are in such an uproar. Admittedly, the LAV BPOs I have are really useful but I can survive without then, no sweat. If there were advanced or proto BPOs being pulled I might raise my eyes at that.
Beyond that, if you want a basic economy in Dust BPOs pretty much have to go. May not seem like much but they would have a negative impact on the long term economic balance. I do think it would be legit to have a BPO that produces X number of items over time if you supply it with raw materials or even just a small cut of ISK to simulate the resource draw of production. Something along the lines of 5x Toxin rifles produced every 12hrs for 5k ISK worth of resources. |

When I hear that BPO's are ruining the economy I laugh. With all the ISK saved from running BPO's (instead of their equivalent militia or standard gear), from ALL players across Dust, I seriously doubt it reaches over 1 Billion...
And the key contributors to the ISK numbers are the LAV's BPO's, although they cost upwards of $50 USD... so it's not really an "economical" issue for CCP. |

wait a sec... you just admitted that bpo's don't compare to adv and proto... well you have to buy those right? so if your not even using the bpo's how do they have a negative economic effect?
plus, bpo's are off the market, so only a few people have them. if most people still buy their gear because they either don't have bpo's or don't use them, how does that negatively effect the economy?
we are mad because ccp is messing with things we spent our REAL money on and they are not treating us fairly in this change. if bpo's have to go fine.
but i bought a permanent and useful item. I should get a permant and useful item in return.

I get that you're thinking it's a good idea, and perhaps in a better world? This would clear up a lot of stuff. The problem is that a lot of the people moaning and complaining about this wouldn't really be placated by an explanation of why they're being removed anyway. The game has changed, and unless said change is reverted (which would **** other people off) then they just won't be happy. |

I'm neutral on the BPO's except for my Raven, SVER, and Valor suits, which i'm not skilled into but do love dearly.
I would like to see the game keep BPOs and alter them such that they have a positive impact on the game.
The easiest way to do this is change BPOs so that they modify stats/skins for any standard item bought. So a Raven Assault suit BPO would modify the appearance of a STD Caldari Assault dropsuit, and maybe even provide some minor sidegrade buffs for flavor.
That way every item would need to be manufactured but BPOs would still provide interesting and worthwhile content that peeps would be happy to pay AUR for.
I support SP rollover.
