so what is good compensation for the bpo removals.
these were useful permanent items.
should we get something useful and permanent?
is 4800 aur fair compensation when a lot of people only paid 50 aur for the item but a lot of others actually paid 4800? should those who only paid 50 get 50, or should those who paid 4800 get an equal increase in aur complimentary to the increase those who paid 50 are getting?
vanity items? ones that are exclusive to those who had these bpo's that no one else could ever get?
please discuss seriously. add your ideas.
nova knife posed this challenge and i would like a mature discussion.
if you don't have these bpo's or you just want to troll, please refrain from posting.
thanks.

while those who paid 50 make a profit, those who paid 4800 don't. isn't that imbalanced? shouldn't the people who paid 4800 aur get like 40k aur (estimated comparable increase from 50 to 4800)?

is CCP entitled to take money under false pretense?
you will say i chose to give them my money, yes I did.

why do they have more right to that bpo than I do to my money?

Ah, but what exactly did you purchase? BPOs for cash? Nope. You purchased Aurum; what you chose to do with that was entirely up to you. Now that the item you purchased will no longer be offered, you'll get Aurum back... which is exactly what you paid for. End of discussion.
not end of discussion. when i bought aur, permanent , useful items were on the market. now they are not. so the aur I bought before is actually worth more than the aur I'm given now.
not to mention there are people who only paid 50 aur for these items... why do they get 4800 aur, but I, who paid 4800 aur don't get a mark up in aur back?
isn't that imbalanced?

isn't that imbalanced? Look at it this way--you paid money for an item and received usage out of it. Now, you're getting FULL value for the item(s) that are being removed. How is that not fair? You've gotten to enjoy a good with absolutely zero depreciation penalty!
so I should be happy that I got some use out of something I was under the impression I bought forever?
how often in life would that deal make you happy?
maybe if I were simple minded and had no self respect, I would let people walk all over me with BS deals like that....

You might want to stick to what your OP stated and comment in other thread dealing with ther facets of the BPO issue if you want non troll responses to be taken seriously here. If you purchase any software that is used to interact online with other buyers you will always run the risk that that software will be developed beyond what you are happy with to suit the whole. That is a risk that all buyers are warned off in the small print and accept by using the software. In an optimum situation you can argue for reimbursement, but that won't be always the case. Mostly though it's tough luck, and go find other software that suits your present needs. In this case you're getting reimbursed. Stick to your thread title and lets see if fair exact reimbursement can be gotten for all.
i appreciate the level headed response. if people would start posting serious contributions that would be great....until then, I'll take the bumps

tomorrow they do it with something you do care about, but the groundwork was already laid out for them to do it, because the community remained quiet or disdainful of those who spoke when they didn't care.
people like IWS are the worst because they are supposed to represent the communities best interest but instead he craps on our valid concerns simply because he isn't bothered by the change.
you ever hear the story of the country that was taking over other countries?
the countries being accosted asked for help from those who weren't being attacked.
the requests were ignored because their soverenty wasn't being encroached.
before long the invading country did attack those others and when they went to seek help they realized there was no one to seek aid from because all the other countries were already defeated.
the lesson here, don't wait for it to directly affect you, because then its to late.
what ccp is doing is unacceptable and we should stand united against this type of action else eventually something you care about be affected.

It's CCP's game, the terms are clear, **** changes, things become useless, CCP do their best (and are fair) to refund at market prices or better.
Before you ask, yes, I've spent well over -ú500 on this game since playing beta... I have tones of BPO's, I also understand how bad they are for the game. Sure I will question them taking my Dren/Templar ****, but I'm not one for looking into a crystal ball at events that may never happen.
You feel you have been poorly treated, get off the forums, post a petition to support, spam the CEO's twatter account, but please spare us your bullshit and leave the game. CCP had the legal right to put contact nades on sale at half price a week before they nerfed them into oblivion too. That doesn't mean they're immune from criticism when they pull such d*ck moves.

I'm one of those players who got BPOs at dirt cheap prices, but I will still be happy regardless if I was one of those who paid 4800 AUR since I'll be getting the same amount back in that case.
the only issue I have with your suggestions is for those who paid 4800 aur to get that back
I would be fine with it if those who got them dirt cheap weren't making a profit and if aur market actually had worthwhile stuff to buy.
without permanent items on that market the aur I get now is worth less than the aur I bought.

if it does get removed later how will you feel about that? Who am I to assure anyone of anything? No, obviously I cannot assure the other BPOs will never be removed. I really would not want that to happen of course. The way I see it, CCP may have the legal grounds to remove any BPO we purchased in-game from the store, and I fear they might want to go that far. However, I am almost sure that legally they won't be able to pull off removing anything that was included in a Bundle, and not purchased for AUR. That would be ridiculous, legally probably impossible, and I assume that many players - which might include me - would just leave without a word. This one though - removing 4 BPOs, or even all BPOs purchased for AUR and refunding the AUR - this I will sit through, and see what happens.
well im not as sure as you they wont try.
I see this as opening the door for that.
I fight because I don't want us and our money to be treated carelessly.

Of course, that still doesn't mean they are equally worth it to you if that's how you want to see it.
bpo's were an attractive item influencing people to buy aur
its evident in the sliding aur sales that many felt this way and find the selection on the aur market sub par.
if you owned a giftcard to a 4 star restaurant with the best food ever made and then they changed to a mcdonalds menue,
when do you think that card held the most value?
as a 4 star restaurant, or as mickey D'S?
the aur market is now mickey D'S
not my opinion, fact exhibited by aur sales and the complaints of the gear.

I don't see a graph anywhere that I can access that gives me a live feed of what's happening. 3. I look at it this way. A $5 gift card is still worth only $5 to me. Money is money. I don't care if the food they offer has changed.
2. I don't actually have numbers I base this off all the hate for the aur items on the forums, the fact I hardly ever see aur gear in battle, and conversations with other dust mercs.
3. 5$ is 5$ true but what you get for that 5$ has different values to the buyer. better food tastes better than bad food. wouldn't you rather spend your 5$ on good food?
