Minmatar logi is an awesome suit that can be very versatile for both supporting your squad directly and doing solo work when needed... TBH, from what I've seen, Gallente logi is the easier choice (more low slots to fit more tank easily, particularly if you're only working with std/adv modules, shield extenders really only become good at proto, and the suit bonus makes it easier to fit, obviously). I wouldn't give up my Minnie logi for it regardless.
You'll obviously get the most out of your logi suit and be the most helpful to your team running in squads, and because of this it is useful to have various fits that you pick from depending on the situation and what your squad needs and already has covered. You don't necessarily need everyone in the squad running scanners, for instance
Like others said, scanners are good, as intel is always good in this game. Add getting adv scanners to your list (eventually, of course, when you can afford it), the adv quantum is a great scanner for most situations. Even when running solo, it doesn't hurt to know enemy positions, even if the rest of the team doesn't directly benefit from the scans.
Uplinks are good, and definitely needed in domination especially, a Minnie logi can be one of the better suits for getting uplinks down near the objective/behind enemy lines/into flanking position fast (though this is greatly helped by speccing into biotic skills and possibly dampening), whch in many cases can completely turn a game around. Even in ambushes (particularly on the larger maps) it is often a good idea to simply have a link on you that you can throw down when needed to enable a respawning squadmate to get back to the squad more reliably than just using random spawn.
If you end up being your squad's designated medic, who'll need to pick people up and run a rep tool, sometimes in hairy situations, I recommend going for as much tank as possible and go light on damage mods. On the other hand, if your squad has other logis sharing the duties, it is not necessarily a bad idea to run a more damage oriented fit, if nothing else to add variety to your game play.
And in general, as almost everyone armour tanks now, rep hives are brilliant... Not just for healing others, they really can save your live in many crappy situations a logi can end up in, just trying to do a logi's job
Have you considered installing the improved keyboard?
