Either gear that a player doesn't have enough SP to use normally, or a booster to achieve SP faster. If CCP gave out respecs, then players wouldn't need to grind more SP. A respec would just give you a free do over without spending time trying to grind. If you don't need to grind more SP, then you certainly don't need to buy AURUM. CCP will never touch anything in this game that lessens AURUM, as it is the revenue stream from the game. Players always beg for 3x SP weekends, or more bonus SP, but if CCP shelled out the SP then why would you have to buy a booster or use AURUM gear until you achieve it normally? They need at least a reason to for players to consider buying AURUM. Truth be told, I think AURUM sales will rise as the gap between new players and vets increases to the point of no equality. I assume this was CCP's intention all along.

I assume this was CCP's intention all along. I nominally agree with you, and if all the core stuff (racial variants of everything) were in the game, I'd completely agree. But they are not and they ARE adding weapons in the next update (which my vehicle SP's are going into). I am the Horseless Headsman. I bought merc packs from chromosome all the way up until uprising hit (1.2) I've specced into several roles and weapons since. Nearly all of which have been deemed novelty weapons. Laser rifle, flaylock, nova knives, swarm launcher. Some suits have been rendered nearly useless as well. Gallente scout, Minmatar(spelling?) scout, Minmatar assault. Scanners have made my scouts walking $$$ signs and my Minnie assault is too squishy to survive the all mighty AR. CCP doesn't understand that you can't have people pay into your game, then alter their decisions on a whim.

I assume this was CCP's intention all along. By your logic, they wouldn't give vehicle users their vehicle SP back, as that would discourage them from buying boosters. Instead they would have reworked vehicles using the existing vehicle skill tree, and just changed what the different skills do, adding extra skills as necessary (=NEEDS MOAR BOOSTORS!!!!111). I wish they were as profit orientated as you think, but I'm afraid the truth is far worse.

For example people who have specced into the scout suit, people who had specced into the pre-nerf Caldari Logistics, people who have specced into any Logistics ( since people can't stop crying about them being OP ), people who specced into Dropships etc.

Not that hard of a concept. Choices are supposed to matter. You can complain all day and all night (I know, too late, already did) about whether or not that fits your individual definition of fairness or your own opinion about what's good for the game or not but at the end of the day this is a fact and is what CCP envisioned for the game. Personally I would benefit massively from one b/c I've wasted a good chunk of my 17 mil SP on things I rarely use (only got my first proto suit at 16 mil) but I agree with CCPs vision and I can always get more SP. Point 2: despite this, they have been very consistent about refunding SP when the skill tree gets reworked. Your skill changes, you get the SP back. Also simple. Vehicles get massive skill tree change, including removing some vehicles and modules, respec. AV gets a balance pass so that they won't OHK the new lower eHP tanks, no respec (but lots of QQ... Ps, I use AV all the time, not vehicles.). It's only logical that a respec will come when all the racial suits and weapons come out, whicb isn't 1.7. And even after I got my respec at around 12 million SP (I believe), I still had plenty of "grind" left, as do I now, considering I've been making more out of less SP because I'm a jedi that way. Wrong Im nearly at 32mil SP My vehicle tree has been overhauled so much that the SP i have now into vehicles isnt enough when 1.7 drops Im also into infantry but i need all my SP out to put back into vehicles and even then it wont be finished by a long shot I maxed out my vehicle tree to where i was happy with it and to where i was competetitve enough, i had spare SP waiting for pilot suits which never arrived, i ended up going into infantry since the vehicle changes looked like it was never going to happen Now 1.7 i need even more SP, i still have boosters going and i will still need some more because of the changes to the vehicle tree alone Now with a partial respec i could go into 4 proto suits and spec out 2 proto weapons and be done with it, top of the tree got everything i want then i wouldnt need anymore boosters or SP until more stuff is released if i wanted it Players always want SP, espc vehicle players we have so much more to sinks to put our SP into
