Are you not mercenaries of a ruthless universe called New Eden? Are we agents of war or are we rose gatherers?
Not everything can be "fair" to every player. If the player A is refunded for vehicle specs and player B is not because he specced not into vehicles; its really not a big deal. The probability of the SP going anywhere besides vehicle skills for player A is pretty high. Meaning, without vehicles, he would have naturally progressed the same amount of SP and purchased skillbooks over time as opposed to leveling up quickly after respecs.
I'm not specced into vehicles but I don't care that you guys are getting a respec. You should, since they are changing the game. So what you guys are getting some odd SP points to level up new areas or try new things (if that's possible). I don't walk into battles looking to lose. And respecs doesn't mean you become a god overnight. |

And respecs doesn't mean you become a god overnight. I agree that you can't become good overnight, it takes practice. But notice that this is not a "respec for free, or for ISK, or for Aurum or whatever" thread. This is a "the game has changed, some people wanna play with the new toys and the ones with the old toys have an advantage over them" thread.
Yes, I understand what you are saying because you expressed yourself clearly. I'm saying the ones with the old toys really don't have any advantage at all. Time played = SP respec.
No matter the method of acquiring those skillpoints, those who are getting respecs really have no difference in the skill point progression itself.
The only thing different is that they're getting a bundle of SP as opposed to those who didn't spec into vehicles, whom acquired the SP over time. |

LOL let me try this again. The SP you put in vehicles is the same SP I had already put into other areas for my infantry player. They remove vehicles and respec your SP. My SP has not moved. Yours has moved from vehicles and to what other areas you may want to check out or skill up.
So its quite reasonable for you to get your SP, since the vehicle changes. Nothing affects my SP or better yet, nothing in 1.7 affects my SP gain/loss.
So it evens out. Hope you understand where I'm coming from. |

No it isnt I put in x amount of SP for vehicles, i worked it out about how much it would take me to spec out my vehicle tree with everything i needed Now CCP increased the SP sink by a factor of 3 The SP i have now no longer covers what i need in 1.7 Now once i maxed out my vehicle tree i saved up 8mil SP for pilot suits which never arrived, the vehicle patch kept getting pushed back so in the end i ended up skilling into infantry so i could have a secondary playstyle Now i need that SP from infantry back since CCP increased how much SP it takes to do vehicles
Sources please about this SP sink. So if they increased the sink by 3, then you are saying you're at a disadvantage at getting the partial respec? You are not even coinciding with what the OP is expressing.
The OP is stating that those who get partial respec will have a advantage over others. You neither expressed how that's possibly or brought anything to the table to further support the claim.
No looking to slight the OP in a negative fashion but the mercenary has already expressed they solely wish to keep the debate alive. If reasonable answer is found, we are merely on television panel with other guests going in circles for the sake of.
If you paid 500 bucks for something in a store in the same location I perusing at, and the company gives you 500 back for a faulty product, where in that does the consumer who did not purchase anything has a justifiable reason to gain money as well. And what put the spender in a advantage position over the other guy who did not spend anything? |
