They may try to manipulate your mind and may always monitor you, but, if you become part of their aristocratic class, life is not so bad. Its is a chosen few who become that class....and even they are not beyond the manipulative implants. Given more scope and will than the less slaves but not beyond the masters whip.
I also would believe the Nation would not trust us. it is unlikely that we as cloned soldiers can be implanted with the same devices.

No win in aiding The Nation in anyway.... Unless you gain power. For how long would you keep that power though? Sansha has ultimate power in his domain, who's to say he doesn't have fits of anger at his subjects? And what form would that anger take?
We don't know how he would react to immortal mercenaries though.... can he even implant us without interfering with our current implants? Would he even need to?
