I think people in red line should not be rewarded points for kills, because they are not contributing to match nor trying, which I think is a big problem that ccp should look at. It would prevent a lot of redline sniping also rail tanking. It would push the battle to the objective instead of people hiding in the red line just to get kills. I think this behaviour should be punished not rewarded. |

But they are contributing. Killing is clearly contributing to the match.
Also, what does it matter if they contribute? It's not winning that matters; it's making a profit. |

But what happens when your team gets pushed all the way back, otherwise known as "redlined"?
The removal of WP for points gained in the redline can completely deny a squad the one Precision Strike needed to make a good comeback.

This attitude is the problem, and unfortunately CCP has yet to make the needed changes to change these players minds and make winning valuable.
If CCP really wants to make all players participate in battles they need to:
Boost the rewards for winning.
Decrease the rewards for loosing.
and remove rewards for those sitting in the red-line. Heck I'll take it a step farther. You should have a 15 second timer in your own red-line as well. Stay in it too long and you die. Yep. No sitting in the red-line for anyone. Its a safe spawn point, not a safe place to play a match from after all.

It would work either way, u have to be in the combat zone to get warpoints. Shooting out of or into redline would not reward war points. simple and easy fix.

Can I make an alternative suggestion?
Perhaps a team could be run out of a map, making a third method of victory possible?
Meaning you can get cloned out, MCC destroyed, or redlined (chased off)

If you decrease the rewards for losing then a person that gets put on a losing team starts losing Money and equipment. So, eventually they will not be able to win because of lack of funds/equipment. And if you molon labe guys ever got redlined with the 15 second timer on as you suggested then you would whine about that. You got a problem with tanks, you pull out tanks or av. You got a problem with redline snipers, pull out your sniper fit and countersnipe. If you are standing still long enough that you get sniped, that is your fault. If you get sniped while moving or in a gunfight then I applaud the sniper for his skill and timing. As far as afkers in the redline, they are no use to anyone

Nice, but you let him keep sniping for too long.
I prefer this method.
Mobius Kaethis wrote:In a match yesterday I noticed that half of my team, yep half, was sniping. This was causing the rest of us to have very little ability to affect the battle. In response to this heinous affront to my need to win I ordered my squad to each find a sniper and stand in front of them, thus denying them ability to snipe. The heathens must learn the error of their ways.
So I found my self a nice looking sniper, akira fireteam, and proceeded to follow him around for a while. He kept trying to move but I would just move myself right back in front of him.
After a while he mailed me.
Subject: how **** off before Message: I fuk u over
Entertained by his poor grammar and command of standard English's spelling conventions I informed him that the price to snipe this match was 1 million isk and I'd leave him alone once I recieved the money (money earmarked for the mercs whose games were ruined by too many snipers fund).
He failed to pay and I kept standing infront of him the rest of the match, with a brief window of time I had to find him again him after he was, ironically, sniped while I was standing in his way.

Sir! I am affronted by your lack of genteel nature and your blatant disregard for the honor of myself, my corp, and my alliance on the whole.
No sir, I am not upset about the other team sitting in the red line but my own. Far be it from me to decide how the other team chooses to loose. That is entirely their own affair. My own team on the other hand, well, let us just say that I will never support a coward.
What you are saying about players who loose, in the context of my decreased rewards for loosing scheme, is pure and utter hogwash. Why, just this weekend past I proved that without a shadow of a doubt one can stomp all over the other team witha squad full of people in starter medic fits. TTK being as low as it is what suit you wear is almost irrelevant as long as you keep your guns pointed in the same direction. It'll be a rare red dot that doesn't think twice now when he sees my alt, who has zero sp devoted to skills beyond tanks mind you, rushing about in a medic suit like a czarist on holiday.
Of course sir, if loosing rewards were decreased and your steward failed to inform you, thus causing you to bring proto gear into a very much one sided battle in your opponents favor, then you would in fact loose money. Only an ignoramus would continue do loose money match after match though. No no, I dare say that most players, even the daftest fellows, would soon learn to maximize their profits even under the most dire circumstances.
Now sir, back to the note of your insult. I would caution you to keep such slanderous language to your lugubrious friends down at the gin house. The gentlemen and women of Molon Labe. and Molon Labe PC have nothing but the utmost respect for other players of this game and you would do well to show us equal respect.

First off, it was not an insult. Just saying that if you and anyone in your corp that agreed with you on the 15 seconds behind your own redline and you die got affected by it then you would whine. Secondly, you can't tell me that people who were always on winning teams wouldn't always proto stomp. It's happening now in pubs and fws. A duvolle would destroy a person using a malitia ar or even a gek. Don't get me wrong, you can still kill people that proto stomp but it is significantly harder. All I'm saying is if a team had the misfortune of losing because of blueberries then they may get to a point where they wouldn't be able to be as effective. And for the record, I don't think a whole squad should snipe. I'm talking two people at most for support. If ccp put more emphasis on winning instead of getting a butload of wp for killing that would fix a lot of the problem.

So you target your own team just because you cant win. Get the F*** over yourself and leave them be. If I see that my team is full of snipers, I accept it and work my game around it. I do not troll my team unless they are spinning in circles. If I see a sniper and they are doing poorly so what, they maybe new to the class and just getting a fill for it. They may be fresh from the academy and they are tired of being ground into the ground by better players, they are trying to contribute anyway they can. Stop being a troll and grow up.

This would make a lot of people just quit because they would then be incapable of even trying to deny someone a few isk while their team is pushed back. A lone player is generally no match for a full squad. As a pistol scout at most i can take 3 proto's if they can be separated or 4 basic units if i'm playing hit and run or something but penalizing a person for being in their deployment would just be a dumb idea.
