Good job on the video/photo proof.
It's a sad way to go - this also reflects badly on his corporation, even though he probably doesn't think about that at the time. Hopefully there will be some action.
If you haven't done so, submit a ticket, as it's the only way they'll register it officially, although it's always good entertainment for the forums as I'm sure he'll get crucified in a different way here. :) |

Game doesn't preclude it, EULA doesn't disallow it (to my knowledge), thus not worth a ban.
However I would think that CCP would do something to 'nerf'' this type of behavior in the future and also rethink doing any future events based upon doing a simple search through kill feeds for weapon type used to award things. On another note, it takes the coordinated work of at least two people (possibly 3 or more) to work together to make this happen with any certainty. So it does encourage a certain level of cooperative play at least. ;)

I have to agree with the lass. Boosting is childish **** to do, but doesn't really break any rules. as in just Look at every FPS Leader Boards.
His rep and corp rep tho will now suffer for that. From now on he's know as the guy who boosted, and won't get taken seriously. probably get trolled a lot too. But I have yet to see anyone get banned for boosting.
NOW HAVE THEIR STAT RESET IS A DIFFERENT THING. CCP... DO IT.

Remove time in battle from ISK payout formula and provide a bonus to winning team... Watch battles become fun again.

To be clear he is using event fits that provide rewards based on kills associated with said kill, he is therefore exploiting the event and by summary the game.
CCP you should consider banning this guy asap to take a stand or lets face it ill just go do a video on it and show others how to exploit this event.

Hate to break it to you, OP.
The evidence you presented is in no way, shape, or form an exploit and no rules were technically broken. Those were just three players coordinating with each other with one doing the killing, the second doing the dying, and the third (which you probably didn't see) doing the reviving. And from the looks of it, he was extremely careful with how much damage was being dealt because shooting someone a second time immediately after a revive runs the risk of terminating the clone rather than just rendering it incapacitated.
There will be no punishment handed out. And with the new system CCP implemented that curbs WP farming, I don't think the guy had much in the way of SP gained out of it.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

A man (or woman, or transgendered clone-being) deserves whatever treatment he (or she, or he-she-it) gives. Therefore it is appropriate for the community at large to ostracize and despise you, as you are doing something equally as bad to them. You are devaluing the Black Eagle suit. Everyone getting them through reputable means is feeling slighted by your actions.

More than likely he is hoping to cash in once the player market is opened by selling a bunch of the Eagle suits.

Don't forget that your top warpoint scores will earn you extra SP this month. Most people will be getting a few thousand extra from it. A booster could rake in hundreds of thousands of extra SP. Amounts you'd get from an active booster running all week.

Obviously exploiting the black eagle event to get more suits. The new WP system made sure he doesnt gain much as far as that goes.
Atleast he will lose those suits soon after they are awarded most likely.
If not and he holds them til we see the market and he makes a ton of profit from them then congrats. |

It appears that the general anti-boost WP limiter did not do much here as the total WP's are pretty much in-line with full rewards (92 kills = 4,600 WPs).
Even if it did, CCP didn't take special events like this into account when they built it. |

Sure this isn't on the same level but it is in essence item duping and i simply refuse to accept CCP think this is acceptable.
Anything less than a ban sends a terrible message and frankly calls into question the judgement once again of the CPM who see this as fair game........

Yep, I've had it happen as well. Once I realized what was going on I was able to bunny hp and sprint my way out of it.
Fortunately for me, I have no stats that would be even marginally affected by 4 deaths.

Their forums, their game, their decision. Glitching and boosting has never been against the rules because they simply cannot stop them all. As well as afford to lose even more players, glitchers or no. What they're concentrating on is fixing glitches and stop it at its source, not burn players at the stake for taking advantage of their broken game.

I do not really mind the boosting as long as it does not negatively affect the match outcome. As long as they are not using the boosted warpoints to call in orbital strikes. No clones are lost for the team trying to win the match. As someone else mentioned, keep in PC and no one will notice
There are other ways to "cheat" and get extra suits for free, create additional accounts on the ps3 and transfer the Blackhawk suits once player marked are open to your main character. |

This is actually one of the traits of CCP that I really very much like. The sandbox game as Hellsatano mentions, you will not get banned for bending the rules, everything is allowed if it is possible within the game mechanics more or less. It makes it more challenging and unpredictable, having to face and counter other players ready to abuse the mechanics of the game to win the match.
I might be raging etc. but it keeps me coming back instead of moving towards other games that quickly becomes boring comparing to this. How much more challenging it is to face such creativity on they battlefield.

Thats exactly my view point on the whole thing. People who complain about others not sticking to conventional and orthodoxed methods of grinding and killing and calling them cheaters are just whiners. The unknowing of what could truly be accomplished with the games mechanics is what I like about this game the most.
Most people just don't like to think that they are being left behind when they don't search the game for mechanic exploits. Sometimes an exploit turns a negligible mechanic with little effect on the battlefield into a significant decider of the outcome of a battle. Those are the ones that really make people mad.
There is no doubt in my mind that there are several OP exploits barely anyone knows about yet. All it takes is for one person to stumble across it by a fluke, and try to recreate it, master it, apply it effectively, think about what could work very well along with it. Then tell someone else about it. They tell a friend, and eventually everyone knows about it. This process can take a while, but once an exploit is discovered its inevitable. More and more people will know about it.

The real issue is that it makes a mockery of DUST 514 actually being a game .. why bother even fighting against your opponents ? Log onto an Alt and help your opponents farm kills and then switch over to your mains whilst they switch to alts and do the same for you ... why don;t we all just give up on actually fighting each other and just farm all our stats this way instead ????
In fact why not just uninstall DUST 514 and go and play an actual game ?

i say good job to him! He's helping to show how flick'ted CCP's events are for the type of game play that they design for their games. You can't have an open, sandbox style game play and not have to design an overly complex set of rules and circumstances for an event.
All these stupid events are exploitable and more than a few players will exploit them.

Needle only works twice on the same merc and then it takes 45 seconds for the needle to work again on them. Adjust the time to make it "fair"

I wasn't necessarily talking about boosting. Boosting was a problem in almost every single FPS. I'm talking about mechanic exploits such as throwing armor repping nanohives into a teammate and it getting stuck on his avatar. Same with uplinks. Boosting is boosting, nothing new/original there. Everyone clips their reload time by sprinting foward, alot of people drive dropships on top of the MCC to snipe, where the invisible wall covering their neck down makes counter sniping them more difficult. People used to use the mechanics of LAVs to launch themselves on top of tactical positions.
Unintended or not, these were once if not still part of the ingame mechanics and therefore could be used to win. Shunning members of the community for finding for be innovative of new tactics and exploits is just being arrogant.

Interesting but like many others said, I don't believe CCP has a cause to move towards banning. I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with what transpired in that video.
Don't they have some sort of unwritten policy that if you find a exploit, good for you but if its corrected and you still find a work around, then it becomes a problem?

Levity aside, this is dumb and sickening. I don't think they should ban him. SP reset him. THAT will teach him a lesson. Having your toy car taken away sucks, but taking it away and giving him the only the rear axle of it sucks worse.
