Here is an example.
There is currently a great debate over TTK. Arguments from one side say that as hit detection was improved, HP and DMG values were not adjusted appropriately.
Arguments from AR users "Don't nerf me bro"
This leaves players in limbo wondering if the current state of Dust is to be maintained, the trend towards CoD to be continued, or if a re-evaluation of TTK is coming anytime soon.
It would be SO bloody easy for CCP to make an official statement something to the effect of "We realize the balance issues created by code optimizations and although it's not our immediate priority, we intend to raise TTK within the next 2 patches".
Or "Although the unintended consequences of our optimizations caused a decrease in TTK, upon feedback and reflect we think this is a good change for Dust"
Or
"Our design team leader would like to take these 5 minuets and briefly explain our philosophy and vision behind TTK rates, weapons, ranges, and where we would like to see Dust in regards to this issue. . ."
Yet instead of this we're treated to silence and left to assumptions. Dangerous assumptions. For many, when we go too long without any comment on fixes to game mechanics or bugs. . . (HELLO DROPSHIP SIDE-TURRET, AIM RESETTING BUG of 6 MONTHS) . . When our concerns go too long without being addressed, this manifests itself in a distinctive lack of playing or caring about Dust.
Vets go from ardent supporters of CCP to near virtual enemies and resentment builds over the perplexing issue of Why Couldn't They Just Say Something? Is it really that difficult?
This is not the same as staying what new content is expected to be coming when, or when Dust will fully integrate in a meaningful way with Eve. Or when Dust will move to PS4. This is entirely reasonable and I would say expected, but entirely ignored.

What do you even mean take charge off lasers? They'd probably be fine if not for being out classed and out ranged by AR's all around them now and in 1.7. |

Lol. Well I mean people are entitled to their opinions but I havn't seen a single person yet aside from you suggest that dmg needs to be raised higher than right now.

My assault can take out 2-3, If i'm lucky 4, Now my heavyGǪ well he should just drop his HMG and throw stones at people. Wouldn't that be a problem solved by raising HP and lowering damage in general. And adjusting range of AR so it does not out class every single weapon between 0-80 meters. |

It's to late don't bother the damage has been done ccp only talk to us on threads that agree with their current thinking and the pretend they are communicating with us. I won't trust anything they say again tbh I'm looking forward to seeing how they screw up FW as I can see how that's going happen with the lp store. And god knows how guns are going to turn out
And this would be an example of how CCP is turning what was once their fan base.. into bitter, resentful, jeering anarchists wishing the demise of their company in a 'bite off their nose to spite their face style.'
Not very healthy for a game that depends so readily on their small crowd of vets and fanboys |

Take all my likes. Thank you. I've always been disappointed at dev response here. And shocked when I visited the EVE forums to see an abundance. I understand that there are lot less people, but why is it always Logicloop who has to answer? Where's everyone else?
Maybe you answered your own question. Perhaps all the other devs on the "Teams" split back off to go work on flagship Eve realizing Dust is dead till PS4 and there's no rushing content to the PS3 that can't handle it. And they're stuck here for another 3 years for some reason.

Probably for the same reason they left small rail turrets with an obvious typo bug for over a year. (They read that they should do increased damage vs vehicles, but had the lowest efficiency in coding)
Hence worthless for infantry (by design, built-in inaccuracy and no splash), worthless for vehicles used by nobody.

This is CCP 101 oh you mean do the oposite of what everybody wants in the hopes that what? we will keep playing this ****** game? how does that make sense ccp..? how YOU MAKE NO SENSE YOUR CHOICES ARE FLAWED how come i cant walk up to a proto plasma cannoner and snatch his cannon? a bluedot can walk up to my tank and steal my mini turret,..blow all my ammo and hop out.. they dont have the skills to use my turrets i dont have the skills to use plasma cannon..so why cant i just take it? how come i cant walk up to people enter their drop suit and walk off with it..they wont lose it unless i die? so why not? they can drive off wit vehicle users suits? why can we not steal their suits?.. do u understand what i am saying ccp..tanks dropships lavs are vehicle users SUITS they spend sp and isk on them and should not be able to have them stolen by friendlies i men i know ive been explaining this to you for a few years now but sometimes it would be nice if you caught onto things faster than my autistic cousin
valid points, blue dots shouldn't be jacking ships or turrets because they shouldn't have the proficiency to even use them unless they spec into it
And if they went out of their way to spec into turrets or a vehicle, that's at least a sign that they won't crash your tank into a wall, or spray limited turret ammo like a dufas |

Real disappointment
If I wanted to play an MMO with only 2 guns I'd. . . Oh wait. There are no other MMOs, or even FPS like that. Because its terrible. |

I like the devs over at Wizard Wars They have time to comment on multiple threads every morning. half of the posts are from their executive producer explaining game design plans and what they're currently working on. asking the community what they should prioritize next
I should ask him how much time it takes out of coding development time, to post those 5 minutes of replies each day. I bet he'll say it cost them a year in dev time, which explains why CCP thinks its normal to go 6 months mute. |
