From a skype chat with me and Aeon Amadi:
Regarding a boss in Final Fantasy 11: [5:53:12 PM] Aeon Amadi: - Absolute Virtue is notorious for being the longest running NM that remained undefeated by players through legitimate means. This added to the unpopularity of the development team at the time, because any method deemed unacceptable by them would be removed from the game.
- The methods to curb Absolute Virtue's difficulty were officially revealed when the development team released a video with hints on how to defeat it in 2008, nearly 3 years after the battle was introduced. However, the video was heavily criticized for being too vague and not providing adequate hints on how to defeat the monster.
- Absolute Virtue had, on several occasions, been fought and held by linkshells for over 30 hours trying to defeat it, to no avail. [5:55:40 PM] Cheshire Cat: lol [5:55:47 PM] Cheshire Cat: I remember that [5:56:03 PM] Aeon Amadi: We need a Drone like that in Dust. [5:56:10 PM] Aeon Amadi: A boss drone trying to take over an entire ******* planet. [5:56:22 PM] Aeon Amadi: Like [5:56:51 PM] Cheshire Cat: O_O [5:56:55 PM | Edited 5:58:24 PM] Aeon Amadi: Have it on a planet with 15 districts and have it so that the players have to attack it's "legs" on each of the districts, only killing it when all 15 districts are successful and it regenerates the legs after a period of time, maybe like two hours after a district was been won [5:56:59 PM] Cheshire Cat: Players would take turns day and night [5:57:05 PM] Cheshire Cat: Keeping the drone under constant pressure [5:57:14 PM] Aeon Amadi: All the while they have to fend off Installation AI based drones with quad-forges and **** [5:57:27 PM] Aeon Amadi: With a limit of 100 clones on each attack [5:57:30 PM] Cheshire Cat: This should be an event [5:57:31 PM] Cheshire Cat: Seriously
Yes we are crazy

Aeon Amadi wrote:I LOVE where this thread is going.
Nothing like a seemingly impossible challenge. We seriously need something astoundingly difficult like this though, if it's one thing we've all learned from Dark Souls and Demons Souls, it's that when faced with extreme adversity gamers will make it their sole mission to prove the world wrong.
But bigger question is... Who's going to be the one that fires that one shot that really makes the difference? Who's the lucky bastard with the Thale's or Gastun's that launches that last, fateful round that sets the course of history?
^_^ I love imagination. *Some random scrub who never played the game enters the challenge, shoots the leg once and destroyes it* "Did I do something?"

MINA Longstrike wrote:Why do you make so many stupid posts? Finally! Months of bad posting, carefully planned and executed has lead to this moment. I have planned this for months, making sure every keystroke leads to this moment. My masterpiece is done, I finally managed to make you - MINA Longstrike, to post on my thread saying "Why do you make so many stupid posts?".
My work is complete, and I shall now disappear from the forums for a millenia.
