Long time Dust beta player, looking to return to the field, but I've noticed a lot of things have changed.
Anything specific I should note, and make sure to take into account as I knock the rust off, reinvest my sp, and return to the battle field? |

Two new rifles (Caldari Rail Rifle & Minmatar Combat Rifle) are coming out in 1.7 along with sweeping changes to vehicles so hold off on investing any SP until then.

No but seriously. Be wary of the Rifles. We're getting two more added to the pool and so you might not want to spend all of your SP into ARs or SRs.
The CR(Combat Rifle) is Minimatar based I believe with a focus on projectiles, thus making it more effective against armor. It's basic variant is burst but it does come in assault flavor.
The RR(Rail Rifle) is Caldari based, again I believe it to be, with a focus on hybrid damage and it's more akin to the Scrambler and Tactical/Glu me thinks. It should be coming in another flavor as well.
There's also tanks and stuff. They're getting made better. I'd suggest you look around and check yourself instead of relying solely on forum warriors' words.

PC will be getting a 2.0 but I'm guessing that's not coming until the 2.0 launch (March) with a better connection with EVE.
The player market is on the horizon but when it comes it won't be really "developed" so to say.

The hit detection is WAY better now and because of that, the fixings to balance the game through damage mods before has now made the game unbalanced. Basically, even if you wear 654 armor with 156 shields, a militia assault rifle can actually kick your ass if given a slight advantage.
Scanners are the big wave now but they might catch a nerfing soon due to the stress profile dampeners can put onto a suit.
Nova Knives suck now, I've heard.
Nothing really going on in PC currently.
And 0uter.Heaven won the squad cup after being told that they'd wouldn't even make it out of the second set by numerous people(they had to go against an Ancient Exiles squad).

Be wary of the gallente logi, armor is much better now. People have been gaining skill points while you were away, expect better equipped soldiers in pubs. Ranges have changed so be sure to keep an eye on your optimal. Damage falloff has been introduced for some weapons like snipers, you may have to change positions you once knew.
Otherwise mostly the same, welcome back soldier |

Don't bother dust as turned into a meaningless twitch shooter where u fitting makes smeg all differnce. PC is dead and fw is a joke. At the moment dust is just a sub par lobby shooter with a crazy grind

We should be getting massive changes in the next few patches. Expect all racial dropsuits to be available before Febuary (likely sooner). New rifles, really powerful vehicles, are what we currently know about 1.7. Changes to Faction Warfare, PC as well as the player 2 player market are all on the horizon.

This is a hard question... might not be a good idea to start playing right now. You should probably wait until next expansion... everything is broken in the game now in 1.6...
However! I am certain CCP will make dust good again. Soom TM.

Oh and aim assist, watch out for M1 grenades as well, they have a crazy radius that will kill you.
Yeah, with more players having access to higher skill levels and better gear, pubstomping has become the FOTM focus. Be prepared to experience crushing victories and defeats, depending on who has queue synced into your match :)

To all of you whiners. Don't tell me not to play, I played this game when it hardly worked, and I liked it.
Back in my day, you had to push your Sageris up a hill to snipe noobs, and then push it back down to not lose it.
Thanks all for the Feedback, I'll probably just play around with my alt in the interium, and see what the new patch brings.

My only advice is don't take anything past standard until your sure you enjoy it. Vehicles are being redone and respecced so they're fine either way.
The Ellecon's come from a long line of Gallente. Tarn chose Peace. Tallen chose war.

People just like going QQ over everything.
TTK is a bit shorter, and scouts aren't doing to well, vehicles are better to be a side role instead of a full role.

Reall the same basic setup as before, but with more choices.
HP really doesn't mean much anymore.
Id max out your CORE, which you probably have.
Max out an SMG and have fun until december 10 when you can pick out a new type of rifle.
Watch out for explosive spam. Don't run with the pack.

I say save your sp you accumulated, don't spend it all be very careful on spending. infantry game has shifted to high ttk at the moment vehicles are currently in a bad spot.
