So I have enough SP for another racial suit. I currently have an Amarr Logi that I love but sometimes I feel that in a face to face gunfight I lose to the speed of the other suits. It is great for a defensive suit. Its great for lots of things. I want an assault suit I think. I could go heavy for versatlilty or I could max out some more of my skills like hacking or profile dampening and fiiting optimizations to make my Logi suit a beast. I want to know what you guys think of the assault suits. I have played with my brother in laws Proto Cal Assault and I wasn't that impressed. Maybe it was a touch better then my Amarr in a up close and personal firefight because its seems to strafe a touch quicker. I really want a MInmatar but I think they are too weak right now. Its probably down to Gallente or Amarr for me. So question is what are the hybrid weapons and I want opinions from ppl that have these two suits.
I would also love to hear from somebody that has both the Amarr logi and Amarr Assault suit. Don't really want to waste my points on something that's not really better then what I have. I do have lasers at prof 2 and scramblers at pro 2. |

Well bro um that doesn't help me any lol but I appreciate it. I have AR pro 4 MD pro 4 Laser pro 2 Scrambler pro2 SMG pro 3 Flaylock pro 3
So I could easily get pro 4s with my laser weaponry and be fine with Amarr I could run the AR on the Gallente wit SMG sidearm and be fine also. I could run SMGs and or Flaylocks on a Minmatar and be fine also.
This is where my problem lies. Im a man of many guns. Im best with my Massdriver but im a very good AR, Scrambler, and Laser guy also. On top of it all I will have me a combat rifle when that hits. I still have a few more weeks to save some more SP after I sink all this into another dropsuit.

Anyway, best Assault depends on your weapon choise. If it's the SCR, Amarr Assault, anything else Caldari/Gallente assault. If you love speed go Minnie Assault.
Well I don't really lose that often. I just don't want to lose a gunfight period lol. I find myself hurt sometimes and I just feel like a slug trying to get to some cover. Now with the ttk and all I wish for a touch more speed to get the hell outta harms way and the assaults do have better shield recharge rates. So many choices and only enough SP for one. It hurts.

EDIT: Of course if you want to take the easy way because; A: You're just that bad. or B: You couldn't be bothered to do it any other way. Then SCR + Amarr Assault / Duvolle + Caldari Assault. But once strafe becomes a huge factor again, Minmatar will become the kings of any gunfights, being able to get a decent buffer, with a strafe advantage. If you're good at strafing, and if you're good at aiming, then Minmatar is definitely the best choice. But if all you wanna do is roll around with roughly 800 HP, with a large DPS, and make it look like you're good, then go for the others.
In my shock squad I have a hell of a good killer by the name of supertoaster. He runs proto Min assault. He does awesome with it except in the citys in PC. Ive seen him go 30-0 and 40 something and a few deaths all the time but he cant get up in the fray to much. I think about Min assault and then I think about PC and core nades and I just think ewwww that's constant insta death.

Very true, I originally was gonna go Minmatar Assault. See in most PC situations we always usually had cargo hubs. Im so good with my suit and my Massdriver but I feel like on the ground Im lacking the speed and shield recharge rates. I feel outta my element on the ground sometimes.
So for instance lets say im covering an objective in PC like I normally do. We lose the objective and my guys cant get it back. I want to be able to put the cape on and come down and turn the tide of battle with a different option. If im covering and scanning and throwing uplinks im beast with my logibro. The other night on that research facility runnin on the ground in all that lag I felt like a worthless meat sack. You still played so well. I went 4-2 and 3-4. Its been so long since I went negative in a PC or had less then 7 to 10 kills. My norm is usually like a 10-3. I felt like I let everyone down and wished I coulda did more so im trying to figure out what I can do to help more in those situations where I cant cover an area with my logibro.
I remember our battles on Sver Prime in our early PC days when DL hit them. We didn't win the war nor many battles lol but I went 48-5 through 4 PC battles on Sver Prime. When Im in my element my logibro is amazing. Like I said though I want to be even more versatile so when Im outta my element I can still have other options.

Zero Harpuia wrote:If you're truely against Minmatar, and Amarr Assault seems out of the question if you're even asking the forums, then Gallente Assault is probably the best. Reductions to weapon fitting, one of the sturdier tanks, and it relies on armor so it's tank probably won't get tweaked anytime soon. Just dn't go GalLogi instead, that's probably getting a nerf if the forums have anything to say about it.
Yeah I cant stand not having a sidearm. That's why Im an Amarr Logi.

When Im in my element my logibro is amazing. Like I said though I want to be even more versatile so when Im outta my element I can still have other options. You must understand that although KDR in a PC game does equate to some bragging rights, It isn't an important stat for PC games; In the end the most important thing is the Victory screen. As a slayer my job is to have a positive KDR, because that means for every 1 clone death on my side it equals to at least 2 or 3 on the enemy side. For a logi WP is the most important stat, this means that the equipment you are dropping and the support you are giving the team affects the sway of battle; For example the beastly Logi TheDark Templar would gladly go 4/20 for the win, knowing that his well placed uplinks are being used to flank an enemy point or secure an objective, his nanohives gives me more bullets to kill and more reps to survive and his scanning ensures that I know where the enemies are and where they are coming from. Sure a slayer logi looks good on paper, but it is overshadowed by how effective a dedicated logi can logi and a dedicated assault can assault; I stand by this principle any day. So answer me this, when you lost a point and you don the cape, jump down and assault in your assault suit, who's taking over your logi job? Who's to say that going on the ground to get more kills is more useful to the team than dying a bunch, going negative but ensuring we maintain high ground?
You do have valid point. Its just when we lose that point then sometimes my high ground is ineffective and if my guys are not able to take it back I just wish I could do more to help things. Maybe im wanting to do to much. Maybe I should just go Minmatar for the fun aspect of being fast and I love my sidearms. Run it in pubs and such and only when I really really need to in PC. Im just thinking of ways to be more versatile and you have been a big help in my decisions. Bro hug
