Our optic systems are not advanced enough to block glare or to enhance low light situations. Give it another few hundred years.

Sun Tzu knew that even the light of the sun was an important weapon, no matter how many thousands of years into the future that won't change much.
To be fair though, you'd think our visors could account for things like the sun and tone them down in real time

Pretty sure the glare we see isn't even real, its just something moviemakers like. Kinda sad our visors don't have the protection of dimestore sunglasses though.

I prefer Ray Bans.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

Well you have to come up with some way to portray retinal pain caused by looking into the sun, so having a brighter glare seems to be the easiest way to translate that effect

It's not like we have that kind of technology now.
But then again, we have Scout suits, that in the description say they use two way servos to make them faster than normal... yet they couldn't even make high school state qualifying times for Girl's 200m dash

I suppose we can just go full Abrams with it, but you'd think that the suits would counter it. It's an unneeded graphic that takes up some small amount of performance, and most games have a tic-box for that kind of effect.
On a tangent, I can't even tell if Caldari clones have eyes. They at least should be immune to it. My native Minmatar seem to be a race of Xiahou Dun's, tho maybe they're going Solid Snake with one eye augmented and the other 'bare'. The Gallente... people don't have that many eyes o_0. Then the Amarr, surprisingly, are closest to normal looking :3

Funny, when I used to be in track, I don't recall having to run in full advanced armor that could stop several plasma bullets to the chest. Nor do I recall having to lug around a rather heavy looking gun, and potentially a sidearm, and equipment.
Which event is that?
Also, I rather like environmental affects on our suits, helps with a sense of immersion if you have a hard time aiming into the sun, or on the bright snow. |
