So last night my two year old son is jumping from the couch to his stationary exercise bike (we do exercises together) while holding his batman toy. He just finished watching the batman movie. (the Tim Berton one) Suddenly as he jumps to his bike, it flips over and he takes a spill.
I go over to him and ask him if he's ok. He's tells "Yeah. I hurt my knee. kiss it" So I do. And then he points at batman and says "he got hurt too" So I tell em "what happened to him? DID HE BREAK HIS BACK?! HAHAHAHAHA! (runs around house laughing)
"that's messed up!" my wife yells at me, though she's laughing. And my GF who's laughing also tells the pup "good thing you weren't holding a super man toy"
*Soooo, what was the point of this?*
That if you throw a toy plane in the air and it crashes, you can always say "Oh no! not another dust pilot! HAHAHAHAHA!"
* LAME*
WHAT? RL experiences sometimes can get you thinking about your game or movie experiences. |

My wife is bi and she is poly amorous. GF is same.
I never say I am, cause I just sorta found out what poly was through her, and just accepted it. |

That is a curious situation.
Also, art mimics life. We make art to represent things in life. I don't think life was modeled after our perception of what is artistic, although I suppose I could be wrong.

Ain't all fun and games. Ain't gonna joke, that when things are great, they are great. And when things are worse... heh. Times your fight with your lass by 2. Tho Now with my son, I have a equal vote in the household. Cause he usually sides with me. lol
EDIT: Tho most of the times the 3rd mate plays neutral and helps diffuse any fights that might become bigger then they really are. (ladies I'm looking at you) |

Art mimics life but in turn life mimics art.
Take the American West. People created books and artwork about what the West was like which evolved into the classic heroic cowboys image we are so accustomed to. This image then shaped people's lifestyles and actions (esp. during the 50's).

You make art through your experiences in life. Movies are self reflections of that life or dreams or imaginations. but unless anyone was going to really put on a cape, I would say that it's usually ART copys life.
where in the SCI-FI genre, life only mimics art cause more then some would be premeditated. How many books about underwater machines were written before the submerine? or about aircraft?

I didn't really think of life in that way. I suppose I thought of it on a broader spectrum; more about life/lifeforms/the state of life than people's lives. I guess that's why I thought it was an odd question.
Yes, it is a cycle. Humans love to take their artistic portrayals and attempt to turn them into reality. All art would have an impact on life, no matter how small or individual, and life forms art, including those impacts.
Why is this in General Discussions, anyway?

Well, art affects lifeforms as well. Humans have breed dogs over millennia to suit their functional needs as well as their aesthetic preferences.

Really didn't think the "art" talk was going to go this far. was expecting more of other players refrencing toys or objects to create situations in dust. like "see this toy car? (rolls it over on its back) it's a lav driven by a noob"
*But that is stupid*
Your stupid... wait. Anyway, should have known better. This is the dust forums. lol good thing I didn't make a post about quantum physics. .....tho anybody want to?
