Now , making Logis Sidearm only was at a time an idea i considered good, but now ME being a logi and biased as we all are i decided i could come out with a better way to balance logis with Assaults.
1st-SAME AMOUNT OF SLOTS THAN ASSAULTS: The extra CPU and PG in the logis is intended for the use equipment , but FORCING logis to fill their equipment slots its neither good nor really solving the issue. A LOGI player like MYSELF might prefer instead of using all 4 slots in a logi,using only 3 BUT with better equipment (Say instead of 2 STD Nanohives, 1 ADV or PRO nanos) Reducing the Slot numbers on Logis down to assault level make the advantages Assault has more valuable. Speed +Stamina+more HP become IMPORTANT differences between dropsuits BECAUSE,even if the logi might imitate one of these attributes they cannot imitate all of them. Cal Logi:5 H 2 L 4 E Gal Logi:2 H 5 L 4E Min Logi:3 H 3L 4E Amarr Logi:2 H 4L 4E
Now please NOTE i did NOT use the same order in slots they previously had. I did however reduce the number of slots to Assault Level. AKA 7 slots and 6 for Amarr.This slot changes should come with slight tunning of the logi suits: Caldari logi gets back its previous CPU. Amarr Logi gets a PG buff AND an increase to shielding up to 140 (making it 140 shields and 160 armor{The idea behing this is that with 1 Cx damage mod and 1 x shield ext i can still reach 200+ shields,to be able to use the fact this logi has good shield regen rate plus shield recharge delay).All logis will have 2 Equipment slots at STD level, 3 at ADV level and 4 at Proto Level.
2nd-Change in Bonuses= In any OTHER game, shield regen bonuses are used for ''Paladin'' or ''Tank'' Characters. These are characters of units whom function is to absorb damage while the assault/Frontline units that have higher DPS attack rather safely. The ARMOR repair per level is AT LEAST a Third of the reason to spec into Logi. Being able to Armor tank massively and have an inherent 5 armor rep per level is something I think its more of an assault OR even HEAVY bonus. I would change this bonus to the current gallente one:
GÖª Default Logi Bonus: -5% CPU/PG Cost to Equipment PER Level
Now i think this bonus helps greatly ALL Logis.From carrying better active scanners,to more uplinks to up to 3 types of R/E.... This is a bonus the Gallente SHOULD NOT Have for themselves. So basically i replaced the General Bonus for Logis with the Gallente one. Now all logis have a Different General Bonus,but not necesarily a BAD one. Just one more focused in equipment than taking damage. Of course this comes with race specific bonus changes too,of course:
GÖªGallente:1 HP repair rate per level. Thus the Gallente keeps all their previous bonuses.+5 HP at Proto level.
GÖªAmarr:5% cost reduction to Drop Uplinks and Active scanners. Now i know is a bummer that and amarr logi now has even LESS tanking capacity than the gallente logi,but think of it this way:The Amarr logi will always carry 2-4 Uplinks, and Proto active scanner (both having a 50% cost reduction in BOTH PG and CPU),making them incredible assets in the battlefield,plus what they dont have in TANKING they have it offensively because of their extra sidearm slot.Plus remember i gave them an EXTRA EQUIPMENT SLOT,so NOT only they will be able to always carrt the best uplinks and scanners,but 2 more eqquipment of choosing, PLUS a sidearm and Thanks to the slot reduction and Bonuses the AMarr will be able to easily for Complex mods where other logis will have to sacrifice equipment or equipment quality to do this.Better equipment and Modules is the Pro. The con is the price will ALWAYS be hgiher than other logis.
GÖªCaldari:10% reduction in Shield Delay / Depleted recharge time per level. At proto level, both Shield delay and Shield depleted recharge time will be cut in HALF. This bonus is a lot better then the previous one,since it does not require low slots,which i have removed from this suit.(Reason is, Caldaris are Shield tankers,not dual tankers)
GÖªMinmatar:+10% Hacking speed per level. Sorry but this one stays.Its just too good of a bonus! I increased it to 10% to account for the lack of low slots to Code-breaker stack.+50% at proto level.Now some might think this bonus is not effective on a Logi,but this is what the suit is; LOGISTICS, and 90% of a game is won through ASSET control. This is what this bonus does. From hacking objectives,to supply depos ,to enemy vehicles, this bonus is a god send.
This is in MY opinion, how logis would still be powerful assets in the battlefield, while providing the feel of LOGISTIC suit,not a dominant killer.

Logi's therefore need a different bonus so if they match slots, the Logi still doesn't have a huge lead.
Well the slots for the CAL logi might be 4 H and 3 L ,SAME as the assault. But not only i find it interesting since it helps abuse the ''new CAl Logi Bonus'' But you could use for example:
GÖª3 Cx shield ext for a total of 441 GÖª I cx Dam mod GÖª1 Cx Energizer/Recharger
or
GÖª3 Cx shield ext for a total of 441 GÖª 2 Cx Damage mods
or
GÖª2 Cx Shield Ext GÖª3Cx Damage mods (note the Amarr and GAllente logis cant equip 3 Cx dam mods anymore)
or
GÖª5 Cx Shield extenders fora total of 585 shields alone
etc....
WHile Being a LOGI, you can always put up 2 ENH or Cx Armor plates to get 300-400 Armor because you have the equipment to use Rep Nanos..... |
