I respect the right to field whatever you want to. When you see the guy running around in a ck0 with a Balac, and he goes 20/3 he spent a ton more than someone in their dren suit with dren AR, and that's worthy of respect as well. Fact is, the people I have trouble respecting are the people that QQ day and night about nerfing this and buffing that, and the only reason I didn't go 800/0 is cause they have proto. Another simple truth is this. Anyone can wear proto gear. Its not reserved for a privileged few.

"Pubstompers" as you call them...well I see nothing wrong with squading with your Corp members, as that is kind of the whole point in being in a Corp. That said, I have been in matches where UMC- was stacked without qsyncing into the same match. I was just doing my normal thing in Standard Gear when I happened to notice some of our Smurf's names were players from Corp. This has also happened to work against us, where UMC- squads were pitted against each other. Coincidentally, this is most often the time you will see anyone in UMC- pull out Proto for Pubs. We do qsync into FW quite often, only because we get tired of being teamed up with smurfs who continually drag our squads down. I can't speak for everyone, but I personally rarely use Proto. It'd be nice if the proto squads would leave one or two slots open to "adopt" a newer player and show them how great it can feel to be a part of winning team. Life is killing me.
