Get used to it or stop playing. If you don't like this fact go play another short-shelf life game where you can reach your God mode and be happy until you get bored and never play that game again.
Dust is different because you have to change with the game or you will be slaughtered. Respecs are a crutch and they are bad for the game. Deal with it or go elsewhere.
Dear dipshit,
How can I keep up changing with a game that changes core mechanics and weapon stats every month? When they are completely reworking the base stats of any and all modules or equipment, it fundamentally changes the dynamic of the game. They may nerf a playstyle completely (see heavy/scout/callogi/ARs/MassDrivers/ScR/Vehicle/etc...). CCP makes us save for a month or two to spec into a tree, then in 1 week releases notes that say "we are changing the entire tree you specced into, so even though you grind for months, we will nerf it and you can go **** yourself". Simply because you don't want a respec doesn't mean that respecs are not deserved or warranted for 90% of the player base. If you don't want a respec, don't use it. There are a large demographic of players that want/need it.
This game has been absolute **** for two months now. It went from a broken game with great squad and team tactics to a twitch shooter/watered down version of COD. If it has any hopes of redeeming its current player base and bringing back the players that have left, they will issue a respec. Even if the intent is simply injecting some life back into this dying game. |

Even if the intent is simply injecting some life back into this dying game. They did what we wanted and now we want a respec because they did what we wanted Exactly. The more CCP gives in to the complaints and demand for respecs the more people will be using the fotm gear, thus making Dust more like COD not less like it. When you have a weapon skilled that is not the fotm you either train for the fotm item or adapt your tactics to counter it. I know my AR can't compete with a laser or scrambler at range. That doesn't mean I kick and scream for a respec. I adapt my AR tactics while training for the scrambler. But as more and more people do this the scrambler is already becoming dominate on the battlefield. Just look at the kill fee feeds during battle. Scrambled are gaining popularity. Eventually the scrambler will change or something will be added to counter it. Should everyone using the scrambler get a respec then? **** no. Because respecs are bull ****. For Drapedup: Changes to Dust don't happen overnight. There are Dev blogs, forum posts and discussions about upcoming changes weeks sometimes months in advance. And we ALL know more **** will be added to dust over time. If you are not able to plan your training accordingly, or horde SP for an item coming out that you really want than maybe you are the dipshit.
Changes also are not announced in a timely fashion, ask the vehical specialist about 1.5. And weeks in advance? That's great considering it can take MONTHS to grind enough SP to max a skill only to find out that skill will become useless in the next patch.
I get it man, you're scared that with a respec other players may smash you. Why is everyone using this argument that people will go into the FOTM? Who ******* cares? The bigger question is WHY IS THERE A FOTM TO BEGIN WITH?!? the answer is because you are playing a game still in BETA! IT is not balanced in any form or fashion. These monthly patches are not tweaking specific things they are more reworkings of entire skills or equip. Until the game has achieved some semblance of balance, then respec every week for all I care. On to your second point, of course adapting gameplay will always be the challenge (or should be of any good RPG) but this is not an RPG! There is no PvE, your decisions matter that week or until the next patch, then who knows whats going to happen! It is an FPS with a ****-grind. They have already altered the core mechanics of this game twice since JULY! In fact they have taken some things COMPLETELY OUT OF THE GAME to re-work the base stats. How can you possibly justify no respec for vehical specialists?
Please tell me how respecs make this more like COD? Justify that statement. COD has no skill tree, limited tactical dynamics, no vehicles, and 60,000,000 players. Dust is supposedly squad based, with vehicles, and 3,000 players.
A respec will not adversely affect anyone's playstyle. It simply allows them to make a more educated distribution of their SP as the game changes its core mechanics. How does that affect how good of a player you are? If Nove Knives become the FOTM, I can guarantee you I won't go into them. WHy? Because a respec doesn't change how good or bad of a player I am. It simply allows me to re-allocate SP into something that CCP has nerfed out of existence. EX: Flaylocks. People went into flaylock because CCP put them into the game WITHOUT testing and when flaylock spam broke the game, CCP decides 'oh we screwed up better nerf them'. How can you possibly blame the player base for using what CCP put into their own game? Why should those players be affected by CCP's poor decision making?
Respecs will save this game, none and watch it die.
