I like to introduce my website www.dust514-fitting.com
On this site you will be able to store an plan you skills. though this only the first step of a real dropsuit and vehicle fitting tool, I am going to publish it for testing reasons. If you find an error or unlogical things, please don't hesitate to post it here or send me an email. This is my very first website since ages, so forgive me if you will have some unexpceted or unusual effects.
I don't know to how picture can be added in a thread, so I have to explain it in words.
I am planing a better handbook for the future. Forgive me if the explanation is very short. Just click a bit on the table an check out what happens. I hope it is self-explantory.
First steps:
- You have to register if you like to do this. For testing use guest/guest for Name and Password.
- Click on the link Skill Planer in the upper right corner.
- doubleclick the yellow field and add the amount of your skills.
- Clickable field will get a yellow/red frame if mouse is hovered.
- Start changing the status of skills and level them by clicking the correct level column.
Beside logging your Skills from Dust514, you can build a skilling plan. Just right click the desires level of your favorite skill. It will be indicated by a red frame and the system indicates all parent skills by a blue frame if they are not skilled enough. The total sum of needed skillpoints for your plan is shown in the table header.
Q: How can I see the complete skill listl?
Click on the field Show all Skills. Doing this will present the whole list.
Q: How can I activate a new skill?
The column status indicates the status of each skill. Clicking on it changes the status e.g. from Can Buy to Bought or vice versa
or from skilled to bought.
Q: How can I change the level of a skill?
A skill must be bought or already skilled. Just click on the desired level an the level will change.
Q: How can I set the skilled level to 0?
Click on the Status field. The status will change from skilled to bought and the skilled level will be 0. |

Well I am sorry, that you don't like to be hit by me. I am an old man and it is bad for my health if I hopp too much over the battlefield. That's the reason why I am sniping. You would help me a lot if you stand still longer that you usually do. Thanks a lot in advance.
Site is a mixture of MySQL, PHP, JavaScript with AJAX and a bit HTML4.

Just tried it a few seconds ago. It works fine for me. Because this tool is still under construction it can be that some parts will not run as mentioned. Maybe it helps if you clean your browser cache.
Consider too, that if several people use guest accound that there could be some side effects which I do not check.

Both skills exist in the database and are visible in the table. Remember either to have the parent skills leveled or press the Show all skill button in the upper left corner to display all skills.

Implemented Skill Tree Version V1.7 finally. CCP announced more skills and my pre-work was useless because they changed their mind in some cases. E.g. a lot of announced Vehicle Command Skills did not arrived.
Because of this and my Chrismas business madness, it took a while to change the skill tree.
Website will support only V1.7 skill tree, all Skill-Planner-Database-Entries are wiped.
Still more to come ...

My website runs with MYSQL database, best way to change data imho is a XML structure though XML is supported by JavaScript.

New update on my website to get a feeling what the next steps will be:
I have started with the dropsuit data table - now the field value will change if the influencing skills were set in the skill planner table.
I loaded up a screenshot.
If you put the mouse cursor over the skill name it should show a descripting what effects this skill has.
Actually not every possible skill is changing the data.
I am still working on it and have to redesign database table too.
Any comments are welcome.

I have divided every Dropsuit Section into Amarr/Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar Subsections now.
Now it is possible that the dropsuit data sheet can calculate the dropsuit class skills to.
You can check the 1. version for Gallente Scout Dropsuits.

New Version 1.7.1
- Now all dropsuit items show how skills improve the dropsuit values.
- For value calculation the item sheet uses the skill values from the skill planner tool.
Different calculation methods implemented: --> Click onto the text:
Some data field were improved by more than one skill.
In a section over the fields you can change the method between ADDING or MULTIPLING.
Adding means that each skill starts the improvement from the base value of the field
Multiplying means that the 1st skill starts with the base value and a 2nd skill start as base value with the result of the 1st skill impovements.
Different skill presentations: --> Click onto the text
In the same section as above you can change how skills will be displayed.
Show all skills means that every skill that changes field values will be shown, regardless if they are skilled or not
Show active skills means that only skill will be shown that are skilled via the skill planner tool
Website presentation
Since this is my very first handmade website, i still focus on the content and not on the presentation.
Once everythings works fine I will improve the style.

Version V1.7.2 from 12-Januray-2014
Every field value which is influenced by a skill shows now the result of the adding and multiplying method.
Values are indicated by a M and an A character after their values.
Background:
Since I donot know how values were calculated when more than one skill improve them two methods were available.
ADDING means that every calculation starts with the original field value. If more then one skill is available then the results of every single skill adds up to a total sum:
Sum = (base_value * skill_factor_1) + (base_value * skill_factor_2) + ....
MULTIPLYING means that the first calculation starts with the base value. A second skills starts with the rwsult from the first skill and so on.
Sum = ( (base_value * skill_factor_1 ) * skill_factor_2 ) * ... )
If anybody has a proof how CCP calculated it really, then please let men know - Thx

Thank you very much for your tip. I have updated the user registration form. For names only characters, digits, a blank and an underscore will be allowed now. Since no ther special signs will be accepted an XXS attack is not longer possible.

Published a new version 1.7.3 today:
Now it is possible that user can change the database. Though it is only possible for dropsuits. User cannot add or delete any item, they can only change their properties. I have added some other restrictions too.
- Fileds using numbers accept only digits and interpunctations
- Fields using numbers have a lower and an upper limit
- Fields using text accept a-z A-Z ' - / signs but no other characters --> because of XSS Scripting attacks
- After an update the system does not accept any other update in between 15 seconds --> Spam protection
To update a value just click the EDIT button beside the field-name.
Then an input field will appear.
Enter the value -> after a change the value is profen and the result will be shown on the right side.
You can open with EDIT as many fields as you like.
When editing is done click an UPDATE button and every field which has a valid value will be changed --> then 15 sec pause for next possible update. Every UPDATE button has the same functionality.
If you fid any strange behaviour --> please inform me.
Once this function runs rahter smooth;
I can start to open the other tables too ...

I have changed the Update-Button appearance:
I have removed the update button beside every input field.
If at least one field has got a value changed sucessfully with vbalid data --> above the fieldlist an Update Button will appear.
Clicking this button will update all changed fields in the database and reset all input fields.

Have made some litte updates:
- Added an Edit All Button in the menue line. Clicking this button will open all input fields at once.
- Command Suits are added now, though they don't have valid data --> you can try now the update function of the website
Known Bugs:
- Changing the number of slot, does not update the SVG-Grafic above --> reason is that this graphic is made with PHP and it will only be updated when the whole page is reloaded.

Updated to Version 1.7.6
I have added a new button with the name: Reset your skills
This button resets all of your skills and you have an empty skill sheet again, but it does not reset the skill plan. If you like to reset the skill plan too, then click on then Clear Plan button --> all blue and red frames disappear then.
Remember:
As long as you don leave the page or click Save your skills, you can reload the old skills with a click on the Reload your skills button.
Another Change was made, regarding the Save your skills Button. Whenever you change the skill level of a skill to a value which is different to value you had when the site was loaded, then the name is displayed in a blue field. If the skill level is unchanged, or set back to its initial value, then the name is displayed in a grey field.
Pressing the Save your skills Button make all fields gray now, because the user save the skills in the database and then there is no way back to the old skills.
