why is it that after im finished recalling my vehicle it still takes damage even though its being taken out of the battle.
I understand that during the recall its able to receive damage because its still in the game, but after the recall hacking is finished when the vehicle begins to disappear, why is it able to take damage? that makes no sense.....
and I call bullshit on over half of my vehicles' destructions on the count that I cant operate them when the recall is being done yet anyone with 500k in sp can kill it... wtf...
this is an error on ccp's part.

technically but not programmed in yet is an RDV is supposed to fly down and pick it up where you risk the vehicle getting blown to bits still.

the fact remains that RDVs do not come down and pick it up, the vehicle glows blue and begins to disappear, I wouldn't be complaining if an RDV was actually picking it up, but its not so it shouldn't be taking any damage when it begins to disappear.

You realize that its not actually being teleported away, merely cloaked while it waits for the RDV to come pick it up? Yes I know the collision box stops existing fairly soon after it disappears, but technically the vehicle is still there for a while while it waits for extraction.

if its not physically there, its not there, if I cant see it being taken away its being teleported away. seeing something and reading something are 2 different things.

So, you'd be happy if an rdv came to pick it up giving away its position because the inconsistency is the issue or are you saying you'd rather it teleport away and not have an imaginary rdv pick it up leaving it exposed?

when im being attacked and I know I can handle it without leaving my tank il kill the guy with my railgun.
when im being attacked and I know I cant survive in my tank, I may attempt to recall it then kill him or I may jump out and kill him then recall, different situations means different tactics.

You know what? Whenever there is a forge gunner, and I see someone recall a vehicle, I will go to that vehicle, shoot the forge gunner, and dance around so he will miss me and hit the tank.
That's what you get for whining about that.

the 1st part. it would make sense if an actual RDV came and picked it up, at least then taking damage would be logical.

That's a lot of vehicle hate right there, I never understood any level of rage inducing game mechanic that would lead one to team sabotage

Try to be infantry with an actual squad in PC. Not just some nubs. You will see what being mindless brings.

See, I understand that it's frustrating to not be able to do anything after issuing the recall, but is it not a little bit broken to be able to instantly zap your vehicle out of harms way?

Well if the collision box disappears, ie you can walk through the area where it was before, then the vehicle actually is gone and can no longer take damage. There is however a short delay between when it becomes invisible, and when that collision box disappears. I'm simply stating that it is waiting for extraction during that time and can still take damage. After that short period of invisibility is up and the collision box disappears, your vehicle has been safely recalled completely.

this is a troll on ccp's part. Fixed that.
It is fair to expect the vehicle to disappear safe and sound after the recall circle completes. Especially if there isn't any published documentation on how the mechanic is supposed to work. Or at the very least an in-game notification by text or voice so people have a chance to learn about it before getting screwed in a serious situation.
