Like EVE's singularity. A place where Mercs everywhere can kill each other with proto gear and unreleased weapon all they want to. CCP admits that it is a huge step backward when they are forced to rebalance weapon and gear, and a test server would decrease that problem by quite a bit. Besides, I need a place where I can actually test things where I don't have to worry about dying and losing a million isk (in the case where I was testing my dropship fittings).
For example, if the rail rifle is released and it really is as OP as everyone claims it will be, CCP can see that now and put fixes in place that would prevent it from being such. Sure, it may not work - but it's a hell of a lot better than the system in place now.
And most importantly - a place to test gear before we actually skill into them. CCP has said they would have a weapons testing room soon, but I assume they've given up on it (as that announcement was in closed beta).

Very remote. And I certainly hope you don't mind me taking up your legacy, Arkena. But seeing as your topic is locked, I don't see a problem with shoving it back up at CCP's, and the rest of the community's face again.

I love these posts. Really I do. It is like watching old time black and white movies.
Little bundles of text that have been repeated asked/begged/pleaded for since the Closed Beta. Ya know, like when we were actively testing DUST. Being able to request a particular map and battle type would have helped many bugs get defined clearly with very quick verification, video evidence as well a method for regression testing.
We still don't have it and all the cute pleading in the world from Mercs of any age will do nothing to produce one.

I don't think it's Sony.
More likely to be a budget problem. Every time they need to update binaries the game downloads it through Sony's servers and CCP pays for bandwidth which CCP probably doesn't really want to pay for considering Dust can't be making that much money.

I actually specifically asked about this sort of thing when I sat down with some of the Devs at EVE Vegas.
While a test server like Sisi is really not on the table, they are aware that the community wants some sort of testing area such a a VR Simulator, where you can try out weapons, vehicles, ect. without any risk. Unfortunately while they want to do this, it is not on the short term road map right now. However, it is something they would like to do in the future once the core mechanics of the game have been more properly balanced.
