This isn't to say that I would mind running, just that I am of the opinion that whoever ran would be participating in a popularity contest rather than actually being judged based on their merits or platform.
For the record, my platform would be Eve integration (or mirroring if integration is asking too much, things such as player economy, player manufacturing/research, Company/Fleet hierarchy/boosts etc), expansion of gameplay areas (increasing open regions, expanding playable map areas/sockets, interior shared instances etc) and getting beyond the lobby while not neglecting the lobby (allowing player controlled travel though shared instances, PvE/PvPvE, outlets for battlefield player interaction that didn't require queues a.k.a. "Non-consensual PvP")

In other words A GOOD player often has different, more educated opinions on video games. Having someone whose participated in PC, has played the game a buttload, and knows how to r@pe is whats needed.
That way they have better views on balance, priorities of what keeps the game fresh, and so on. For instance, its pretty much common knowledge the game needs a respec SOON(most would agree on doing it when racials are brought out[2.0?]) yet only kain spero is really in favor of respecs. Funny Story, CPM is not responsible for any sorts of balancing. CCP Team Kong does that work, and they're far better armed at it because they have the entire player base generating numbers. Also time and time again Pro (specialist type) players have proven to me they are more than capable of overlooking pain points often because it doesn't affect them or they're ignorant such options exist. (top of the world blindness) Now on the other hand players who say run PC battles often, have to organize and devise tactics are the type of pro players that would be more useful as they are going to be more familiar with the stupid and smart things players do and things that are just to easy to press button to get bacon. These sorts are also quickest to adapt if you take away their favorite toy (where the other type would throw a hissy fit and refuse to adapt.) Certain CPM's are guilty of what you speak of anyway .. I'm looking at you Mr What the French CPM Cadezeron or whatever his name is, not accepting that there is a problem with matchmaking and protostomping in pubgames because his corp constantly does it .. how surprising lol I've already said that it's about time all of the current CPM's did the right thing and stepped down, we've had enough of your incompetence and we didn't vote for you so we will never trust that you have all of our interests at heart and based on the game as it is now .. it honestly doesn't seem that you do I think I saw someone use the 'Old boys club' quote and it is a very apt summary of the current CPM's and based on this thread .. there is alot of discontent and disillusionment with the job the current CPM's are doing .. 'Having a voice that doesn't listen to you and just says what it wants to say is not a voice you want speaking on your behalf' Your final point is a very good one, if you go into any political office, how can you honestly say that you're not simply in it for yourself if you do not listen to your constituency. If elected, I know that I would actively make time for any player who brought a legitimate concern to me (not a "my alliance/corp needs to be able to farm ISK via PC more easily" concern but definitely a "matchmaking is trash" concern), if I didn't, I would be doing a disservice to my office and the Dust playerbase as a whole.

I know that at some point in the future, I would like to run for the council, though right now I would be a bad fit because of RL stuff, so I won't be running in the first election. The last thing I want is to be a drain on the CPM, which is why I'll be waiting.
That said, I know there are a number of you who would make great candidates, and I just wanted to make this thread so we can get a better idea of who's still interested in the position, and why. Remove all the current CPM's apart from Iron Wolf I have still yet to see a single constructive post made by any of the other CPM's who simply abuse their position and don't actually forward any of the player feedback onto CCP You are an idiot, IWS, and no offence to him, is not the CPM I would go to if I had something to suggest to the devs. Hans by far is my fav CPM simply because he has gone out of his way several times to ge people together to discuss game features and such. Heinrich and Kain are the only two I've ever seen in game, AFAIK, none of the others even play the game.
