There are severe latency problems with this game. But the fact of the matter is that lag switching will not help you at all. All damage is done server side not client side as someone had mentioned. Because of this when lag switching you are putting more latency between when you start shooting and when you start damaging the enemy. Not only would it make your aim horrible and make it impossible to get kills while doing so but who the hell would want to look at people rubber banding all the time.

The real issue is server latency, and rendering. The ps3 has quite bad hardware and this game should not even be on it. It should be a PC game.

Lag switching is not illegal. This is New Eden and most things simply are with no good or evil assigned to them by any CCP figurehead or grunt. New Eden is based on player versus player ganking. Get used to it, watch the CCP youtube video about HTFU, that will set your mind right.

Modified controllers are valid as anything that can plug into the PS3 USB port is valid as well. KB/M support requires that to be true, BTW as the PS3, and thus any game on it, is unable to determine that a USB device isn't exactly what it claims to be, modded or not.

For those that have little networking experience the answer is they work regardless of hosting the game or not. Hosting DUST is only possible for CCP as none other have the Ruby scripts to run the server code (some has been converted to C++, not all). The only real tweaking necessary is determining how long the switch needs to drop the network connection. Simply dropping ACKs in reply to a specific type of packet could solve it as well although that would be much more work than a timed button that drops the network connection for n number of milliseconds. Any reasonable adequate electronic tech could knock one out in 20 minutes and that includes rummaging around in the junk parts bin to find the pieces and a 555 timer.

Changing the speed of the network connection is not required as well. Simply have a jumper cable with an inline switch and drop anything that comes along when it looks like someone is gonna kill ya. The internet is built on hardware that was not expected to be perfect. Thus dropped packets and dropped connections in the millisecond range are almost always recoverable. Wires, switch and a little time. The version mentioned above is more elegant but is actually over designed related to the task at hand.

Now to add to our misery, there is no valid method established to determine the difference between a bad internet connection and a lag switcher obsessed piece of Kitten Excrement.

Not saying you are lying nor that you are dedicated to it. We already know there are problems and cheaters in a F2P game are expected.

Unless it was your tank, drop ship, LLAV or whatever that got popped in one shot it will not be believed. And then only with a picture or a video capture, even something from a smart phone that shows the death screen would help. This is nothing personal, it is just the internet and a forum for a F2P game.

It doesn't help that the solution from CCP/Shanghai has an unusual amount of problems with incorrectly reporting data via the UI. I got killed by a grenade and thrown many meters into the sky. My death screen reflects that but the kill feed says somebody with a basic scrambler pistol did me in. No way to explain it, just take the grain of salt on move on.

Id like CCP to make a page to report hackers/moders in Dust. For instance, Clips A'hoy uses a lag switch mod, please look into it. Thank you

THE LEGEND, lag switcher bastard in his tank, when i started to murder him i froze for 4 seconds, same with 5 others in the game, he died then left like a wimp.

I don't see anything bad in having a "Report form" in game, but I can already see it being abused by those who get mad when getting killed by a lower rank, or something similar.

CCP should add a "warning" which turns against who reports an enemy without reason.

Clips A'hoy doesn't Lag switch he's just good, even if he did lag switch which he doesn't he hasn't said it in corp so why would he tell you.

Nope, Clips is legit, I play US server and have been put into terrible matches against him.

I was in a Pretorian HAV owned by a member of What the French.

The thing moved like nothing I've seen before, it was faster and quicker off the mark than a LAV.
It also healed EXACTLY 100HP a second, constantly. and then when the repper was on, EXACTLY 1000HP/s
I bought the pack with the Petorian to see if it was a unique mod or something but nope, its all standard (high end but standard)

I have HAV's and almost all the mods, including reppers and all speed enhancements and I can't make a fit that behaves like that

Not crying about anything, he still cant beat true skill, im just looking out for the noobs who try this game a few times only to get raped by hackers. I just want CCP to have a page where they can investigate matters of sort.
