1st 14 days of 1.6 i had perfet hit detection with the charge i aimed it at the head 175% pops up the dot is red i shoot it does dmg makes sense right today i see a guys standing still or not really moving seeing the red dot seeing 175% and shooting ....................... no hit detection why and i thought charge rifles were only effective at 400 metres yesterday when hit decection was working i got a kill with charge rifle at 550.79 metres can some one expain why this game does this before i waste anymore time shooting seeing it hit do no dmg becuase atmps4 is looking pretty nice

stuff like this has been happening for some time now. If you are just noticing it, then count your blessings

Where did you get the 400m value?
All sniper rifles are 599m. There is no difference in the range of the sniper rifles. There is a little difference with the maximum/effective/optimal ranges but I have not researched them. Although they have been discussed on these forums many times.
The original Farsight AUR SR was 1000m. All others were 600m. Now even the Farsight has the same range.
The only reason to buy the Charged SR is because of its damage. Sniper Rifles range from < 200 to > 200. While the Charged is ~320. The Thale SR is 355, thus the Charged SR is the only SR that can approach the damage of the Officer SR and be purchased versus acquired via Salvage.

For those who do not know already, hit detection issues are related to a server-client disconnection, where the image that is displayed on your TV screen lags slightly behind where the server detects the objects/players to be. The quality of hit detection will vary depending on your connection strength with server/other players, and this can be observed with most games. Oversized hitboxes on objects can also create the appearance of bad hit detection. There isn't a quick solution, so it will likely take a while of fine-tuning to significantly improve hit detection.
