so i logged in and checked the battle server regions.
what i have to choose from is
automatic
europe
america
asia.
for some reason my oceania server is missing?
it seems to happen every now and then.
one day its there. others its not.
is this happening to anyone else? |

This seems to happen every other day  I'm sick of having to play on the US servers and wait up to 600ms for my shots to hit the enemy |

i really am sick of the latency issues on the other servers. i see red berry so i shoot first. somehow manage to die befor he does. its like my shots dont register. |

Alright, it seems that a series of unfortunate events unfolded during an update and we're working with the hosting provider to get it up and running again. No ETA on when it will be back, but we have our finest hamsters on it.

Would love to know who the hosting company are and where each of the servers are located
even better would be to have an IP to pathping /tracrt its about time i checked how many hops it takes to reach your servers

Good to see the hamsters are on the case now.
It is worth considering what it means when the first you know about one of your servers being dead is your customers telling you though. I suspect you have a "learning opportunity" regarding your operational monitoring and alerting framework.

i can ping all apart from Europe, nice to see to reach the Europe server i have to go via Dallas time to slap my ISP and look for another i think
Can anyone else ping the Eu server? if not can we have another ip that is pingable on that network if poss?

I would think they knew it was down, but did not tell the community. Depending on issue, sometimes its just faster to try to fix the problem than notifying everybody. Or they were in the middle of troubleshooting and figuring out downtime and etr.
Great job, team. Head back to the MCC for debriefing and cocktails.

Naw its communication lag, operations knew of it first and was already working to fix the issues. The community doesn't check up on what operations does frequently.

From AS13110 only that one works for EU. First one dies after ae5.dar01.sr01.ams01.networklayer.com (of course it's only ICMP, didn't check other traffic)
Nice touch that almost every server except Oceania is at most 14 hops away (with Australia/Oceania being 16 hops, EU being 13) |

Is that insider knowledge or a guess?
Having re-read LogiBro's post I can see that he could easily have meant that ops were already working on it, but he doesn't actually say that outright. Personally I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but it would be comforting to see some confirmation.

The player count for each game is easily available from CCP, and has been for a while - if you don't know where to look, though...
