Who remembers when:
- It didn't sound like a kickball.
- Friend and foe panicked when one went off nearby.
- No one chased a guy with a shotgun around a corner.
- Bunny-hop out of harm's way? Good luck with that.
- Walk backwards out of harm's way? Good luck with that.
- Spin around 180 degrees. And win!? Good luck with that.
- Two shots was always enough. Period. Except maybe Heavies.
- There was no rival in CQC. Except maybe Heavies.
- The Breach was scary effective ... with 2 OHKs per clip!
- Folks often said "if you don't like dying to SGs, don't let a SG into optimal range".
- Folks never said "if you don't like dying to SGs, just carry an AR or ScR and learn to backpedal."
- Everyone feared Jane and Annie. o7

Chromosome shotgun's were actually almost perfect, absolute gods in cqc but fair warning was given via the sound and the limited range (even with sharpshooter).
I ran the breach. It 1 shot everything except heavies at point blank, which it would two shot. The shotguns were so well designed back then...
AV =/= Completely dominate and render vehicles useless. AV = Counterpart of vehicles that combats vehicles.

My Breach SG is still deadly.TOday im going to play as scout mostly...hope it all comes back to me fast....
Im just BORED of MEd frames,freakn logi amarr feels OP and my Assault rules with that SCR....

Just realized the sound reminds me of Mass Effect 3's Saber. Or am I thinking of the old sound? Doesn't matter.

Been using the Black Eagle w/ my own CRG-3 on it w/ a Basic Light Damage Mod... It's bringing back memories when I was able to actually kill noobs with one blast to the chest/back. Today, I dropped a 1400+ HP Heavy in 6 shots, danced all around the cover and flanked him in a figure eight pattern...
Finally got my last round off and dropped him from 10m out...
Felt so good. It did feel like the old days... except the 6 shots part...
Using the Shotgun lately has been getting my heart racing, which hasn't happened at all in Uprising |

Haha it does sound like a kickball. But yeah when I see a shotgun or get hit with one, I soon around and try to hop away. Never works :( |

Edit: I was usually on the MD side, but it was fun as hell.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I'll say that they're def better than any other point since 1.0, but they still need work. the hit detection is there but the damage is not nearly enough to compete with the Duvolle. The shotgun SHOULD OHK mediums. A standard shotgun should OHK a std suit (well fitted) and a proto SG should ohk a proto suit. A proto breach should OHK a heavy, They need a pretty big damage buff, but they're not TOO far off from being really good CQC. Still, the SMG is a better close range weapon. So is the AR. That is wrong.

When getting the drop on someone the Shotgun is great. But the semi-auto scrambler is better. the charged shot on that is like the first shot from a shotgun. then you get 5 more those at 70+ damage against armor (after armor resistance). And the SMG is better CQC as well.
Though I do remember the half-second delay from when you hit the trigger to when it shot/
People that are amazing with the shotgun in CQC are good at it because they are good players.
I just wished they'd increase the optimal range from 5 meters to 10 and reduce the rate of falloff. BTW at 10 meters the shotgun only does 35% to shields, opposed the the 110% it does to shields from 5m away

I remember.
Back then, thanks to aim friction I think, I was actually able to hit people with my shotgun in CQC with my M/Kb. Towards the end of Chromosome I was training up my accuracy with the breach.
I remember hearing on comms, "Watch out! There's a shotgunner!". |

I'm slowly starting to get more and more fed up with the shotgun in Uprising. Up until recently, I just assumed that the shotgun's under performance was due to hit detection, but now that issue is mostly fixed, the SG still seems to have issues.
I'm tired of running up to Assault Ck.0s, putting two CreoDron shots into them, and still somehow dieing. You would think that if I'm running a prototype SG with a DM and manage to get two solid hits on any Medium dropsuit, they would die. It isn't like I expect to OHK Gk.0s or Heavies, I just makes sense that a SG would out DPS an AR or SCR at <8m.
Another issue I tend to have with the SG is the Shotgun Proficiency bonus. I do prefer the RoF bonus over damage, but it does create a bit of a difference between it and almost every other weapon's increase in damage. Increasing RoF does increase DPS, the same as increasing damage, but it does not increase the weapons efficiency. Each round of ammo does the same amount of damage, you are just able to fire more rounds in the same time frame. That means that every other weapon can achieve more kills with each clip as proficiency increases, while the SG is fixed in that regard. In fact, the increase to RoF just causes your ammo to deplete even faster. |

Why do you keep mentioning that like its some significant thing? With weapons doing over 400 dmg in a second engagements with shotgunners hardly last long enough for something like that to be a huge factor. |

I personally love it when my creo sg sneaks behind a guy snaps a shot in his back with two complex damage mods an pro 4 an he can just press the trigger do a 180 an I'm dead before the rof on my gun gets a second shot off!
An yes caldaris shields are tougher than any other suit in the game, proto minmatar, Ohk, caldari 5 shots an I die! I can hardly ever three shot a advanced caldari but can 3 shot or two shot a heavy , something's definetly up |
