I remember a few close range encounters and they just didn't seem to do anything much (of course the other dude was strafing, but they do that with AR and still get hurt alot) |

Yeah it gets really weak at close ranges but I don't know the exact numbers off the top of my head. |

Am I the only one that thinks 24-27% is super specific? I could've sworn it was 25-30%.

Now that I think about it, removing the close range damage falloff might go a long way towards making the LR viable in 1.7

I'm hoping that all the negatives of the laser are a legacy of it's initial draft form and eventually they will come back around to it to review it. It really doesn't need to be able to overheat and nearly freeze you, have less damage than an AR and do bad damage at close range. Just getting rid of the close range thing would make for more varied fire fights.

Within optimal range is 0-80m, unless it is specified as say, 70-80m, which I haven't seen CCP do anywhere.
I think the laser rifle is the only weapon that does less damage close up. The Scrambler Rifle also has what, 60-80m optimal range, but full damage up close? |

since lowrate hitman posted that vid of him going 40/0+ with a laser in chromo only way i would use my laser is with 3x complex dmg mods
