I'm by no means average in pub matches. I'm at least in fourth place most of the time and I rarely go negative.
PC is different. I suck in PC. Although, most of my matches were against TPs and Hell storm (or today's AE.)
BTW: The average KDR in most games is below 1. It was like .83 in MAG. BF3 KDRs were heavily skewed because of the revive system.

When it comes to your kills, your KDR is a zero-sum game. For you to be doing well, someone else has to be doing not well. Or at least, not as well as you.
So if your KDR at the end of a game is >1.0, then you were "above average" for the players in that game.
This is separate from your 1-16 ranking.
The average KDR in most shooters is less than 1.

Are you comparing your KRD to people running full proto when you are rocking STD with a smattering of ADV modules? If so, why on earth would you do that?
Just figured people should think about this some. There are a bunch of factors that work against your KRD, things like choosing to use lower tier suits/modules, not having as many SP as proto players, etc. These are all things that reduce your KDR independant of your actual skill.
I bet you already know this because you play EVE, but the best way to do it in the game is by ISK efficiency. Since we don't have a stat for that in Dust (yet) we can't go by it.
