Currently I'm sitting on about 7.2m SP.
Having maxed out all of my armour, large hybrid turrets and small turrets (both). As well as putting some points in so I can fly an assault drop ship, I'm not at a loss as to what to spend my new points on.
Is it worth getting the shield strength up? Maybe pushing for a sniper gunloggi?
Or maybe getting the large missile turrets to proto?
Or! Are there other core skills I really should look at? |

Well, in 1.7 which comes out at the beginning of next month most likely all vehicle skills will be refunded as the major overhaul happens. So it's hard to say for sure what you want to do at this point in time.
Get your infantry core skills up, you can't go wrong with that at least if you want to spend some SP. Max armour and shields followed by CPU and PG is never wrong.

Hm! Fair enough.
At the moment I have a character I use for suits and normal weapons. So this one will probably always be my vehicle plaything.
Thanks for the response. |

Proto missile turrets are very fun. Extremely hilarious, and if you play them right, very potent against the Madrugars that most tankers are running.
On the other hand, if you don't have Fusion accelerators yet, now would be a good time, same with the F84 active scanner. Very important modules, and if you haven't invested the SP into turret upgrades, you should get that to level 3 pronto.
Vehicle engineering to level 4 for the top PG upgrade is important as well.
If you want to toy around with some shield basics before the big changes, I would recommend getting Shield adaptation, Shield Extension, and Shield Boost systems to level 3, then you can give them a try. Be warned, when switching to Caldari tanks, do not, under any circumstances let the enemy get within 10m of the tank. They suffer from horrible gun depression, and it will get you killed. |

get a fusion accelerator. Core skills for vehicles are worthless imo. I do fine with them at minimum levels.
your vehicle sp will be refunded next month so dont worry about it too much.
Take all of it and save it. wait to see how vehicles do and then choose one vehicle, tank type, and turret.

Shield and armour upgrades to 5 wouldn't be bad to the native +10% resistances.
