Since a couple of days I'm having some serious issues with the scanner: basically, scanned hostiles instantly disappear. I'm using the ADV Quantic Scanner, which gives a 15 secs pinpoint, but with this error items are shown for less than a second, both on radar and in game. I initially thought it could be related to a massive presence of items/enemies/etc in the same area, but today it happened even with a single uplink in the middle of nowhere.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? |

It's still happening. I'm using the same scanner. The equipment disappearing has been happening the majority of the time for a month, the player issues seem to be more frequent in the last couple days. |

I may have been experiencing something like this. The weird stuff I noticed with scanners seemed more prevalent when I was fiddling with the controller instead of my usual Kb/M. |

Happened today again, and got killed due to that fault.

Yeah I've been getting this too.
I've been enjoying this bug as I fully expect them to nerfhammer the current active scanners. TBH while the bugged mechanic is definitely not as effective it is much more fun.

I thought the advanced quantum scanner only lights em up for 8 sec?

Haven't tested this particular model. Are you "holding steady" or "spinning around" while scanning? If the latter, try the former.

It happens most if you quickly scan over someone. If you go back and rescan them during the initial scan period red-dots sometime stay on the map.

I think what's happening is this - you're refreshing your scans too quickly. You scan, then your targets are lit up for 16 seconds or so. If you scan again after 14 seconds (right after cooldown ends), sometimes that 16 second light up time isn't refreshed, and therefore the pulse stops 2 seconds after you're done scanning.
Try waiting until your scan data fades then re-scanning to see if the light up time is still short. |

Try waiting until your scan data fades then re-scanning to see if the light up time is still short. This could likely be the cause, and if it is, then it should be an easy fix.

I have also been having this issue. I do not expect CCP to do anything because they never do.
It is not because of not waiting for the previous scan data to disappear. I often have things such as drop uplinks light up for a second then disappear. As i walk towards the direction I saw the equipment it will reappear again once i get close enough. It is like they tied scan radius and precision into the effectiveness of the scan for the user. However my squad mates always notice the equipment. It is very bugged.
They call me the C.L.I.T commander.

That's not the case, because sometimes I run the first scan and enemies disappear right after I finish checking around. I refuse to believe that standing still / moving affects the scanning process. |

I'm noticing this bug as well, and it is quite annoying that I see the player, but I don't see the chevron until they're right in front of me.

Weird thing, I didn't notice this bug with standard scanner (the one which lasts 3 secs IIRC...). |

Are you alone when you scan, or are there other people in your squad also using a scanner?
If you're alone and using a quantum scanner and hold the scan over the enemies (no spinning) and it still fades out a second or two after scanning, then this is definitely a bug.
I haven't really studied the effects of scanning with multiple people in a squad using the same scanner. However, I know that if one person has multiple scanners equipped, switching to the second scanner overwrites the results of the first scanner. I.e. if you scan first with a quantum then rescan with a regular scanner, the illumination time of the quantum is overwritten by the illumination time of the regular scanner, so they don't stay lit up for too long.
Drop uplinks specifically seems to behave oddly; sometimes I can't pick them up on scans, or they disappear too quickly when scanned. |

Are you spinning when scanning? There is either a magic point during the scan or a minimum scan time on a target to actually paint it. Otherwise, you see them but they fade quickly.

I only use Assault suits, so I can only carry 1 scanner each time, but about using multiple scanners I'll definitely take a look, it's worth to check it out. About how I scan, sometimes I rotate myself 360 degrees, while some other times I simply check at 180 degrees... |

Confirming this behavior with both mercenaries and equipment, though far more common for the latter. Scanned targets and equipment usually reappear after a distance has been traveled toward them. |

Yesterday I noticed this bug happening to the long-range (the one with 150m range) base scanner. |
