So.... apparently we dual tank in this game, which I tried to do this build to limited success....but still I think it will be a hard play style to get used to.
So like the Amarr Assault, Heavy, and Logistics Suit you tend to get the most out of them when you have skills in both Shield and Armour tanking.
So I was trying to consider what the Amarr HAV might look like at Standard Level by comparing the current trends we see in the drop suits, and then tried to consider a hypothetical fitting that might infact work for me posts 1.7 if the Amarr HAV is released.
So considering the Gunlogi and Madrugar we see base frame stats like
Madrugar- Shields- 1200 Armour- 4000 (What the hell is this figure) Base Frame HP= 5200 ( I had initially used a figure of about 4750 in my estimations) High Slots- 2 Low Slots- 3
Gunlogi- Shields- 2650 Armour- 1500 Base Frame HP= 4150 (No clue what the hell CCP was doing) High Slots- 3 Low Slots- 2
Considering that I was trying to base a new tank frame off of the Amarrian trends. - Equal Shield and Armour Values -Higher Base HP - Less Slots -Slower Speed -Higher PG and CPU values
This was what I came up with
XSuitablyHolyBadassNameX Shields- 2650 Armour 2650 Base Frame HP= 5250 High Slots- 2 Low Slots- 2
Not too shabby though considering the base Madrugar HP value I either think the Maddy is in serious need of Armour Value reduction or some other hidering factor like PG and CPU shortages.
So my fitting was
XSuitablyHolyBadassNameX Basic Shield Hardener Basic Shield Booster Enhanced Armour Plate Enhance Armour Repair Basic Sponson Turrets Enhanced Laser Turret
Shield- 2650 Armour- 4075 Total HP- 6725
With Active Shield Hardener of 40%, and a brief injection boost of 1900 Shields, and shield rechange values will be nice in terms of bolstering the tanks Shield EHP, while I tank a decent 4k Armour with the suggested passive armour reps. Since Amarr Tanks will be longer ranged vehicles this fit should give me a good amount of EHP, and the ability to react to changing battlefield conditions.
Anyone else have thoughts.... I really should try refining this with proper math....but right now Im too lazy.

Dual tanks would suck hardcore, because your passive armor rep only shines, as long as it can rep. Now, as long as your shield holds, your armor doesn't get damaged. You'd have to delay your shield booster, until your armor took damage, which might be too late. |

If you look at eve side amarr can duel tank but there are given skills to rep armor faster and have higher armor resistance, which make them bricks. I would thank the hav would have a base armor rep and resistance while only have 3 low slots and no high.

True but I cannot see any other way other than this that the Amarr HAV will be designed.
2 H 2 L balance between shields and armour, which decent-high PG and CPU, but low speed.

Yeah, I think the slot layout is reasonable.
Problem is, with the current armor rep mechanic, it is not viable to dual tank. |

Dual tanking while viable in many situations with derpsuits, has never been nor will be all that attractive or viable for competitive HAV play, just my two isk though.

Dual tanking is ok for suits because it is just buffer tanking, slap as much hp on the frame as u can. Active tanking is a whole other beast entirely.

If CCP allows Amarr tank drivers to set an amount of damage which passes shield (e.g. 60% goes into shields, 40% goes into armor), dual tanking would be viable.
Edit: Maybe touching the rubber d*ck, which is attached to thje front side of the tank, could bring up a menu for setting this value. |
