onfortunately there are no hybrid weapons in the sidearm category which is sad. But yeah the shield bonus is a bit stupid. Give it a bonus to armor plates to mirror the caldari assault.
The Plasma Cannon is hybrid? I thought it had a bonus to shields
And isn't the SMG hybrid? It should be.

Then why does 843 BANE run dual SMGs on his Gal Assault? o.O
