In regards to the OP, this all sounds like a connectivity issue as opposed to a Scotty issue. For the most part, the only time my Corp sees Scotty is when attempting to Q-Sync a FW battle (and more often than not it seems the issue is the lack of a battle to join at that current moment). I have heard having windows open when attempting to join a battle can give you the Scotty message, but I consistently have my skills window open when we deploy for battle, and it doesn't ever seem to be an issue when i'm the one with the windows open (obviously i'm not squad leader in these scenarios). I also have had no issues with my mic, or with my game freezing in the market/fitting/skill screen, or freezing due to no activity. Seems to be you either have these problems fairly consistently, or not at all, and that may be playing a part in the Scotty errors.
I don't know when you were having this issue, but I know last week (I think) the PSN was being worked on, but I was still able to connect to Dust (though it did take forever to actually get past the connection screen).
I also had some issues with my ISP a few weeks ago. AT@T was working on their equipment in my area, and it dropped my download speeds to under 2 MBs/sec, and my upload speeds under 0.5KB/sec, making the game nearly unplayable for me, though the problem was straightened out within 24 hours.
I have also seen my CEO get his system all but blown off the internet. We were playing a match (against who I do not remember), and it was just laggy as hell. I'm talking ridiculously laggy. The kind of laggy where you see a dude climbing a ladder, then see him fly down the ladder, back up the ladder, back down the ladder, then vanish, all within about a second and a half, then suddenly I was dead and the dude on the ladder had somehow teleported behind me and killed me. Everyone on the squad experienced the lag in this particular match, some froze, some were DC'd. My CEO was DC'd, but when he got back online his mic was super choppy, and he was still experiencing a ton of lag. He ended up calling it a night, and it took about a full day for his mic to become "un-choppy" and for his system to return to normal. Could be coincidence, and i'm not saying whoever we were playing was lag switching or purposely causing the issues, but whatever happened, it took my CEO's system quite a bit of time to recover.
You may want to check out http://www.speedtest.net. It'll tell you what your upload and download speeds are. Personally where I live I can do no better than about 5-6MB/sec download, and around 1.5KB/sec upload, but this seems to be more than enough for Dust, and I rarely have any issues.
On a superstitious note, when Q-Syncing, Scotty seems to like when we count down: 3, 2, 1, Q, with the squad leads selecting the FW battle on Q. Saying 1, 2, 3 and Q-ing on 3 seems to just **** Scotty off. |

Unfortunately the only service available to my area is through AT@T, and they are booty. I could get internet through Direct TV, but they run their internet through AT@T, and they are booty. A friend of mine does have Dish Network, but apparently they are no better.
The worst part is i'm like 2 blocks outside of the area covered by the cable companies. Another friend of mine gets about 48 down and 15 up. Makes me sad :...-( Luckily Dust runs fairly smoothly. |

The title says Kill Scotty the A.I., but the OP describes symptoms that don't really relate to Scotty, sounds like connectivity issues. Obviously they are not, so I don't know what to tell you, just trying to help. |
