Being a newish (3-4month) forum user is hard, especially if you started AFTER like farms started getting popped
Any experienced forum user knows...... TO GET LIKES YOU NEED.... LIKES.
Which is the vicious cycle anyone with under 1,000 likes has to endure. Especially after it became even more difficult to seem important under a thousand when gerneral john ripper (RIP) made THE FORUM WARRIOR LVLS. which ignored anyone who didnt spend hours (or like 5 mins nerd time  ) having an alt party..... 
I want my likes to be legit, THEY SHOULD MATTER.... cuzzz, they do. I use them as a reference of a users favor in the community, im sure alot of you do the same.
To those of you who choose to rise through the ranks legit, i salute you, you are the only opinons that really matter in these long lists of threads

One day the illegit likes will be looked at and the system can grow like it should, where the democracy in the matter shows itself to be correct.

I still pay attention to the ideas that are stated regardless of likes. More often than not the people with a lot of likes are trolls, bitter old trolls. |

I don't think likes measure much more than how long you have been an active member of the forum community.
the longer and more you post the more likes you will accrue.
it doesn't mean what you have to say is important or even intelligent.
it only means over time other like minded individuals (no pun intended) read a post or thread from you and wanted you and/or the community to know they agree with you.
that or its a troll post and the like usually means someone got a laugh from it.
