Personally I'm frustrated playing the scout class 75% of the time, 20% laughing fun time, and 5% of 'I can't be bothered to care'.

pre-1.6, I enjoyed playing as a scout despite the disadvantages. After 1.6, can't enjoy the game at all as a scout (and while I do well in my brick tanked bpo assault, I don't get too much enjoyment out of using it).
Maybe my opinion of the scout suit this build will change once I get lvl 5 later this week and create some fits that avoid proto scanners.

i still enjoy playing as the scout. i just bring out either a shotgun or sniper and just have a field day at all who fall before me. i still go positive somewhat (unless off day) but tactics do range vastly depending on maps for me

Right now I am a scout, I really am not liking it all that much. More times than not I run a armor tanked scout with a AR or Scrambler Rifle to make it feel like less of a scout. |

I've been playing for 3 months now. Mainly Adv Min scout. I love it. Only a few times that I get frustrated due to ARs. When I get killed by that I try to revenge kill by baiting a guy around a corner with the SMG then BOOM with the explosive as he turns the corner. THAT makes me giggle like a little girl. I have the PS3 set up next to the bed with its own screen, so my wife and kids are constantly asking why are you giggling? Sneaky is the way to go. Otherwise you'll get frustrated trying to frontline with a scout. The only person I've seen that can do it is Icedslayer. Everytime he is on my team I just look at the battlescreen afterward like "You're playing nearly the same setup as me but you're frontlining in Min proto scout with SMGs and going 30/2?"
Took me 3 months to get positive KDR, but it was worth the effort. I take pride in playing hard mode. If I get killed by a medium suit with AR I don't respect it that much because that setup is easy mode.
When I get killed by a shotgun by Roner General or one shot in the head by pistol by (his tag is Wolff something, can't remember exactly right now) that excites me. That takes mad skill. I enjoy the game for skillful play.
I do feel sorry for heavys. I mean, I should really fear them as a scout, but they can be killed too easy. Maybe the rep buff will help them.

I made a suit specifically built around the new rep tool buff, and boy was it fun. With 600 shield and 950 armor, once they got through my shields all it did was tickle. I was tanking damage from 3 redberries, two AR and a SCR. It was funny to watch the scramble once they realized they weren't doing any effective damage. Just wait until I decide to spec into proto sentinel and can pack 4 proto armor plates.

I found it best to have at least 6 different roles and suits built for these to make the game fun and playable.
Scout(Cal Scout): The role of my scout is infiltrator and assassin. I use it to speed to objectives and hack them before anyone knows I am there. I also use it to hunt and assassinate snipers, unaware targets, and the occasion heavy.
Logi(Mini Logi): Support role. I lay nanohives, uplinks, and use my rep tool. I will also use return fire and help hack objectives.
Assault( Gall Assault) Kill everything that moves and hack objectives if necessary
Heavy(Dren BPO): Blow the dust of suit and use it only in rare occasions were the enemy is close enough it might be able to kill something.
AV fit(Dren Assault BPO): Kill all vehicles
Sniper(Cal Logi) a super tanked suit with Damage mods and the best sniper weapon the F****** Thale. Role of suit is to kill all I see and to give recon if called upon.
It depends on the board and what I am want to role play as. My next role is soon to be the mad bomber. A little more SP and I can release it onto the battlefield

As a Heavy and mostly a ground-forger in pubs (since HMG is LOLHMG usually)i have fun 'cause of my weapon.
I imagine people being killed by it and laugh hard.
Sometimes when there is a little lag and my direct hit are not connecting, i think **** this class.
That most in PUB.
In PC i like being a heavy, maybe cause all the true logibro that repp me during the ******* 2 sec my hmg took to tight her spread,so i can unleash a ******* 2000 rpm death trail of bullets i am happy. so i can scream F.U. ARCODBOYS.
For me Scout are masochist.the modern hero of dust.
Respect for SiMMons,Roner General, +¿'venutalatuaora and the other scout.

Before 1.6 - I was having better games with a Heavy than Scout
After 1.6 - I am having better games with a Scout and I've sworn never to use Heavy again
Scout Shotgunning is more fun now, but it's still hard because a whole new host of problems has arose. My latency since 1.6 is through the roof. I'll blast a guy with my shotgun, and nothing happens. I turn back to shoot him again, and then the death shows up on my screen before I shot again, about .5-.75 seconds later. Its hard to get into a rhythm when you don't know if you actually killed a guy or have to keep fighting.
Its like the one time RenGynumnmmnumunmmn killed me in a game. I was shooting his teammate, who was in a Milita Starter Fit. I saw Reg flanking up on me - so I put cover inbetween hum and i while I engaged the noob. But I had to keep shooting at the Militia guy because the game didn't register the kill. I was thinking "this guy should be dead by now..." The showed the guy dying and giving me credit while I was reloading, It was like my bullets hit them and had a time delay in the actual damage they were going to inflict. - so my damage was well late to the party... Almost done with my reload, and Reg blasts me in the head. I was unarmed and had no chance, because the ammo and time wasted with dealing with lag.
The reason i remembered it so perfectly was because it was Reg, I know he was thinking to himself "wow, this guy is so bad... easy kill for me" Because he's arrogant like that. I had the advantage in that situation and was supposed to get 2 kills, but the latency f*cked me over.

Total thought diversion on the role of Scouts:
It seems to me CCP said, "Oh, Scouts are faster. So to balance that compared to medium suits, let's remove slots, make it more difficult to fit things in what few slots they have left, and give them paper thin HP."
That just ain't right. Keep one negative, buff the other two. Or at least buff oneGǪ
