Several factors:
1. The longer you wait after getting killed shortens spawn up to as litle as 3 seconds; for example if you wait 6 seconds to click the respawn, you are at 4 seconds to come back in 2. If you are outright killed without a chance of revive, it is always 10 3. If you are spawning on an uplink the time may be shorter depending on the type of uplink

Not true. I've had 3 second spawn times on objectives after taking a locus to the face.
You're right - if you had been previously killed, and sat there for say x seconds, and were revived, and you then get killed outright you will revert to the previously decreased spawn time. Thanks for reminding me.
